Abstract: A method of operating a wagering game comprises receiving a primary wager, displaying a randomly selected outcome of a primary wagering game, and displaying at least one progressive jackpot. A first portion of the primary wager is allocated to fund the at least one progressive jackpot. An increment amount to be added to the at least one progressive jackpot is randomly determined, the at least one progressive jackpot is incremented by the increment amount, and in response to a triggering event, the at least one progressive jackpot is awarded. Alternatively, a random determination is made whether to increase the at least one progressive jackpot by a predetermined increment amount and, in response to a determination to increase the at least one progressive jackpot, the at least one progressive jackpot is incremented by the predetermined increment amount.

The controller is configured to: determine whether one or more progressive jackpots are active, each jackpot having a respective progressive value and a respective trigger value; randomly determine an outcome of the base game; determine if the base-game outcome has an award associated therewith; if one or more progressive jackpots are active and the base-game outcome has an award associated therewith, provide the award to the player and increment the progressive value for each active jackpot by at least the base-game award; and, if the incremented value of an active progressive jackpot is equal to or greater than its respective trigger value, award the incremented value to the player.

Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods for managing security for network-based gaming. A method and system download and install an image of wagering game content on a wagering game machine, wherein the wagering game machine is capable of receiving a wager input from a player. The image is validated and may be transformed to a virtual storage device, such that it appears to be a physical storage device. The files may be accessed and validated in a similar manner as if they were stored on a physical storage device. In some cases, the same image format for content in an image is the same as if the content was stored on a physical storage device.

Abstract: A gaming machine having spinning reels and methods for operating the gaming machine use a computer and/or software instructions to align a home position of each spinning reel or a home position of a reel strip mounted on each spinning reel with a target position on the gaming machine. An optical detector unit using an optical strip on the spinning reel may be used to align a home position with a pay line on the gaming machine.

Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods for managing of cashless wagering game systems. An apparatus comprises a first cashless wagering game media input device, operable to access a first cashless wagering game medium associated with a first cashless wagering system; a second cashless wagering game media input device, operable to access a second cashless wagering game medium associated with a second cashless wagering system; and a control module operable to: receive a transfer amount, the transfer amount associated with the first cashless wagering game medium and to be debited from the first cashless wagering system; and credit at least a portion of the transfer amount to the second cashless wagering system.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for conducting a wagering game are disclosed. After a player makes a wager, a display depicts a combination of symbols. If the displayed combination yields a predetermined award and meets a predetermined criterion, a win multiplier feature is invoked. In the win multiplier feature the symbols of the combination are associated with respective multipliers, and then the player is prompted to select one of the symbols of the combination. The display reveals the multiplier associated with the selected symbol. The predetermined award is multiplied by the revealed multiplier.

A reply to this request is transmitted from the source server via the host server to the user's computing device thereby permitting play of the game within web page window as displayed on the user's screen. The host server controls the subject matter displayed on the web page outside the window containing the wagering game.

In one embodiment, a gaming system is provided with a trail-based game and comprises a plurality of gaming machines, signage, and at least one controller. The community event is triggered by an underlying wagering game. The controller is operative to conduct a trail-based game including a token and a trail having a plurality of steps, mark one or more of the plurality of steps with a marker, display a token on at least one of the steps, reduce an award value for the step on which the token is displayed when the step is marked by one or more marker. The award value being reduced for each of the plurality of players whose marker does not mark the step.
