Abstract: A medical instrument includes a hollow shank and an instrument section arranged pivotable to the hollow shank proximate the distal end of this hollow shank. An instrument part is mounted in an axially movable manner in the pivotable instrument section.
Abstract: An endoscopic instrument has a proximally arranged operating part, a distally arranged instrument head and a shaft connecting the operating part to the instrument head. A number of instrument channels guided through the shaft open out on the instrument head. These instrument channels run obliquely outwardly in the distal direction with respect to a central axis of the instrument head in a section of the channels that adjoins the distal openings thereof.
Abstract: An endoscopic instrument has a shaft designed in a flexible manner along its longitudinal axis in at least one section. The flexible section of the shaft has a tube-shaped wall made of an electroactive polymer with a plurality of control electrodes and reference electrodes respectively embedded therein. As seen in the axial direction, the control electrodes and reference electrodes are respectively arranged alternately and separated from one another. The control electrodes and reference electrodes alternating in the axial direction respectively have a rigid design and are respectively interconnected in an electrically conducting manner in the axial direction by elastic webs arranged on the outer or inner circumference. A method is also provided for producing a flexible section of such an endoscopic instrument.
Abstract: With a method for manufacturing a bendable tube, which is preferably envisaged for an endoscopic instrument, first a tube is separated into several tube sections in a manner such that adjacent tube sections engage into one another with a positive fit in the axis direction of the tube. After the separation of the tube into several tube sections, one envisages peripherally arranging means for providing a positive fit transversely to the axis direction of the tube, on the regions of the tube sections, which are situated in engagement with one another.
Abstract: An endoscope is provided, comprising a first tube (11) whose distal end is sealed with a cover glass (15) disposed in a mount (14) and an electric heating system for heating the cover glass (15), with the heating system comprising two electric connections (6, 7) which can be connected with a power source, and an electrically conductive coating (22) which is applied to the inside (19) of the cover glass (15) and comprises two mutually spaced contact sections (23, 24), of which one each is electrically connected with one of the connections (6, 7), and with the mount (14) being electrically conductive and a first (23) of the two contact sections (23, 24) being electrically connected via the mount (14) with the associated connection (6, 7).

Abstract: A uretero-renoscope includes a shaft, on whose distal end an instrument head is arranged. The instrument head tapers continuously in the distal direction.
Abstract: A bendable portion, which is arranged at the distal end of an insertion tube of an endoscope, comprises a plurality of tube segments, each of said tube segments having connecting means that cooperate with the connecting means of the adjacent tube segment, as well as control wires that can control the bending of the bendable portion. The respective connecting means of a tube segment are provided such that they axially protrude from the faces of the tube segment and are located within the mantle of the tube segment and such that they do not exceed the thickness of the mantle. The connecting means, which are provided on the respective faces of adjacent tube segments and which are located opposite each other, complement each other in the manner of a hinge-type connection.

Abstract: An endoscope having an endoscope shaft is provided, which has an observation opening on its distal end, which is hermetically sealed using a transparent cover, and having an imaging optic, comprising multiple optic elements, which is situated inside the endoscope shaft in the area of its distal end spaced apart from the cover, a sealing ring being provided, which seals an area between the cover and the optic element of the imaging optic closest to the cover in relation to the remaining inner chamber of the endoscope shaft.
Abstract: A syringe for veterinary-medicine applications has a main body with a syringe cylinder whose discharge-side end is connected to a cannula and in which a piston connected to a piston rod is situated so it is displaceable. The syringe includes a protective module including protective cap and a securing element. The protective cap is mounted so it is displaceable on the main body, which receives the cannula in its first terminal position so that the front end thereof does not protrude from the protective cap. The securing element can be moved from a first securing position into a second securing position and then into a third securing position. The securing element releases a locking of the piston rod relative to displacements, so that the piston can be moved in the syringe cylinder in the direction toward the discharge-side end using the piston rod.
Abstract: An endoscopic instrument includes a shank which is bendable in at least one section and an endoscope head forming the distal end of the shank and in which the distal-side interfaces of the instrument are arranged. The endoscope head is bendable and is designed as one piece from an electroactive polymer. Electrodes are arranged in the endoscope head in the polymer, which may be subjected to electrical voltage.
Abstract: Local tissue areas should be thermally destroyed when using ultrasound thermotherapy. Traditionally, mono-frequency continuous wave ultrasound signals are used to this end. These lead to a non-optimal distribution of heat or to a non-optimal localization of the heating inside the tissue. In practice, the following dosage problem arises: the prevention of unwanted tissue damage in the tissue located in front of the target area while simultaneously having a sufficiently high damaging effect in the target area. The aim of the invention is to optimize the distribution of heat or to increase the localization of the heating. To these ends, modified transmitted signals (e.g. multi-frequency signals) are used that are adapted to a specific utilization of the non-linear ultrasound propagation and attenuation properties inside the tissue.
