Abstract: The examples herein relate to a cooking tool, and a cooking system and techniques that can be utilized with the cooking tool to steam or cook food. The cooking system includes a placement surface, a heat source to channel heat energy, and a cooking tool coupled to the placement surface. For example, the placement surface is a portion of cookware (e.g., pan or plate) and the heat source is a stove or a microwave. The cooking tool comprises an interior volume and a body that includes a lower body portion positioned on the placement surface and an upper body portion. The lower body portion includes a suction cup base that is coupled to the placement surface to form a sealing chamber to seal a liquid or food inside the interior volume. The upper body portion includes at least one conduit.
