Abstract: A system, process and non-transitory computer readable storage medium are used to automatically determine whether to provide a loan. In accordance with the loan process, input data comprising at least a request for a loan and an identity of the loan applicant is received from a remote user device operated by, or on behalf of, the person or legal entity applying for a loan. In response to this request several pieces of data are calculated, determined and/or obtained. These include at least a trust rating related to the applicant, a first type of external data related to the credit worthiness of the loan applicant and a second type of data determined by monitoring online usage by the user of the user device. The process then automatically determines whether to provide the requested loan using at least the trust rating and the first and second types of external. If the loan is approved, instructions are sent to transfer the loan to a bank account.

Abstract: A user device, for example a smart phone, is used to apply for an online loan. The user device includes a camera which allows the user to capture an image of a document in the possession of the user. The image is transmitted to a remote computer system which carries out an automated loan decision making process to determine whether to provide an online loan to the user as a function of, inter alia, the image of the document. The automated loan decision making process can use the image to determine information about the user of the device who is requesting an online loan. The user device determines when to capture an image of the document when it is properly positioned within the frame of the camera and/or as a function of when it is properly focused in the frame of the camera.

Abstract: A system and method for monitoring the interaction of a user using a client device with a page of a remote server. The client device includes a processor, memory and a computer program stored in the memory. The computer program can be executed on the processor, such that the processor causes the client device to record user interactions with components on the page of the remote server; to extract for each interaction a unique ID value for the component with which the interaction occurred; to create event data derived from each interaction comprising the unique ID value and at least a time value for each interaction; and to transmit the event data as a stream to the remote server.

Abstract: A method and computer system for providing a measure of confidence of the identity of a user of a remote computer system. Information from the remote computer system about the purported identity of the user is received. A plurality of images of street scenes located within a geographical area of a neighbourhood surrounding a physical address associated with the user is collected along with the plurality of images of street scenes located outside of the geographical area. Signals are sent to the remote computer system allowing it to display the users of the streets scenes and asking the user to select those images which are in the geographical area. Information about the user's selection is received and a rating of confidence that the purported identify of the user is correct is made as a function of the user's selection.
