Patents Assigned to Woodard, Inc.
  • Patent number: 8046987
Abstract: An air cooled core mounted ignition system for gas turbine engine applications is provided. The ignition system includes an ignition exciter component directly mechanically and electrically connected to an igniter component. The housing member of the exciter component includes an air plenum configured to receive bleed air from the engine fan or compressor sections of the turbine engine, or other source. The bleed air provides a relatively low temperature air source for the purpose of cooling the exciter. As such, the exciter component can be directly secured to the igniter, thereby eliminating the need for an ignition lead.

  • Patent number: 5762403
Abstract: A furniture product with a leg supported frame has transversely spaced apart tubular side rails with slotted openings in wall faces thereof for receiving the sling edge loops of a web sling which spans the rails to support the weight of a furniture occupant. The side rails have rod-like members, of a cross-sectional configuration larger than the slotted openings, extending through the loops, to retain the loops within the rails. The sling loops include a synthetic plastic fabric core sheet provided with synthetic thermoplastic coats on each side, the core sheet edges forming the loops extending into the slotted openings and around the rod-like members, and then back out the slotted openings to positions terminating in heat welded seam folds of double core sheet thickness lying upon and braced by the rail wall faces.

  • Patent number: 5690388
Abstract: A method of making a new furniture product, such as a chair, with front and rear legs supporting a seat frame and a U-shaped back and arm rest frame assembly. The seat frame has an inwardly extending perimetral flange and a vertical flange. The back and arm rest frame assembly has a vertical flange generally aligned with the vertical flange of the seat frame. The method includes the steps of laterally compressing a resilient plastic back shell having a curvilinear back portion and forwardly extending side portions and positioning the shell within the seat frame. The compression is than released to permit the shell to expand laterally into bearing engagement with the seat frame and the back and arm rest frame assembly vertical flanges. Then a seat is provided for the seat frame.

  • Patent number: 4684170
Abstract: A chaise lounge has an open framework, main frame supported on front and back leg frame structures which are hingedly connected to the front and rear portions of the main frame. A back rest portion has a lower end hingedly connected to the main frame generally intermediate the length of the main frame and is swingable from a longitudinal position generally in the plane of the main frame to any selected one of a number of vertically inclined positions. Bale-shaped front and rear leg brace frames are hingedly connected to the main frame generally intermediate the length thereof to extend in opposite directions, and each has a connecting web portion which is engageable with and disengageable from trap members fixed on the front and rear leg frames respectively at a level below the hinged connection of the front and rear leg brace frames to the main frame.

  • Patent number: 4579383
Abstract: A foldable, lightweight, principally metal chair or ottoman has a pair of spaced apart side frames with front and rear legs connected by an upper arm. The seat comprising a pair of fore to aft extending seat side rails, each lying within the vertical plane of one of the side frames, and connected together by a flexible material seat web is supported for folding movement by a pair of vertically inclined cross frames pivotally connected generally intermediate their ends and fixed at their upper ends to the seat side rails. Each cross frame is pivotally connected to a side frame near the lower end thereof, and caps on the seat side rails have forwardly and rearwardly extending extensions which project beyond the seat rails to engage the inboard sides of the front and rear legs of the side frames when the furniture unit is unfolded to spread position to react to the weight of a seat occupant and bear against the legs to maintain them in spread apart position.

  • Patent number: 4559878
Abstract: A folding table, suited to patio and poolside use as well as to interior use and comprising a horizontally disposed table top having a transparent sheet top with a downwardly projecting rim supported by opposed foldable, nesting leg assemblies for said top at opposite ends of said top, movable from a vertical position in which they support said top to a substantially horizontal position folded in nested relation against the bottom side of said top. A spreadable keeper member having a downwardly opening socket is fixed to the underside of said top on each side of the center thereof in a location such as to releasably lockably receive leg brace parts and retain the leg assemblies in vertical position.
