Abstract: An extension cord connector construction wherein the connector components, including a visual power indicator, are encapsulated within a solid, light-permeable body to form the connector. By suspending the components in this manner, the lamp can be seen from a wide range of viewing angles. Furthermore, the body of the connector acts as a shock absorber or cushion which limits the damaging effects of mechanical stresses and improves the structural integrity of the connections within the connector.
Abstract: A portable surge protection adapter includes a housing having first and second exterior faces. At least one electrical outlet is mounted in the housing. The outlet has apertures on the first exterior face which are oriented to receive the prongs of a standard electrical plug. An electrical plug mounted in the housing has at least two electrical prongs extending from the second exterior face. The prongs are prongs adapted to deliver electricity to the electrical outlet. A conditioning circuit mounted in the housing is electrically connected between the plug and the outlet. A prong cover pivots between a first position at which the prong cover encloses the prongs and a second position at which the prongs are exposed and insertable into a powered outlet. Data input and output ports are mounted in an exterior face of the prong cover. A data conditioning circuit is connected between the data input and output ports and is mounted in the prong cover.
Abstract: A low profile rotatable electrical plug includes a housing and a set of conductive prongs positioned on one face of the housing for insertion into a conventional wall outlet. A power cord exits the housing in a direction generally perpendicular to the prongs such that the cord parallels the wall when the plug is inserted into a wall outlet. A rotative coupling device mounted within the housing provides a rotative electrical connection between the power cord and the prongs. The rotative coupling device includes first and second sets of conductors carried by respective conductor support plates. The conductors in the first support plate are electrically connected to respective conductors in the power cord, and the conductors in the second support plate are electrically connected to respective prongs. The first support plate is fixedly mounted within the housing and the second support rotates within the housing relative to the first support plate.
Abstract: A dampening device for an offset lithographic printing machine of the type having a pickup roll having radially spaced fluid retaining means thereon rotatable in a bath of a dampening fluid where the fluid is transferred from the pickup roll to any one of a transfer roll, drum or form roll which together comprise part of a fluid distribution system radially spaced from the pickup roll for subsequent movement to a printing plate on a plate cylinder. The dampening device includes a gaseous blow means for directing a current of gas towards the pickup roll near the gap between the pickup roll and transfer roll, drum or form roll whereby fluid is blown from the fluid retaining means onto the surface of the pickup roll from where it rebounds across the gap to impinge on the transfer roll, drum or form roll as a finely dispersed spray.
