Abstract: Mobile film wrapping apparatus for unitizing a load is attached to a self propelled vehicle and powered by the vehicle's D.C. power supply. The film wrapping apparatus includes a supporting structure for holding a supply roll of film in a generally vertical orientation. The speed at which the film is dispensed from the supply roll is controlled by an electrically powered adjustable tension brake. The film is wound around a self contained heated roller which facilitates prestretching of the film prior to wrapping. The heated roller contains a supply of heating fluid, a D.C. heating element, a thermostatic switch and an auxiliary rapid heat-up A.C. heating element. Power is provided to the heated roller via a slip ring assembly.
