Abstract: A thermal applicator method using a support garment which encloses a human extremity such as an arm or a leg and includes a plurality of pockets adapted to receive thermal elements for retaining such thermal elements adjacent a specified portion of the human extremity and the combination of such a thermal applicator with a pressure applicator. The method comprises applying thermal treatment to a selected portion of the arm or leg and simultaneously applying a plurality of decreasing pressure steps the arm or leg from distal portions to proximal portions thereof.

Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for promoting flow of a body fluid within a human limb, which has been subjected to an amputation procedure, wherein a novel distal inflatable cell having a pair of inflatable cell portions, one of which encompasses such a limb adjacent the stump end thereof and the other of which extends transversely across the stump end thereof, is utilized in a novel method of therapy to treat Lymphedema and similar fluid accumulation disorders of the extremities.

Abstract: An adjustment apparatus for adjusting the pressure applied in the multiple cells of an inflatable medical garment with the pressure adjustment being achieved by a drive apparatus interconnecting adjustable pressure regulating devices, the drive apparatus and the respective pressure regulating devices including adjustment elements which permit adjustment of each pressure regulating device independently of others of the pressure regulating devices such that the drive apparatus may be utilized to adjust, in unison, multiple pressure regulating devices having selectively variable pressure differential relationship between any pair of the multiple pressure regulating devices.
