    Abstract: An elevator guide rail block assembly configured for use with an elevator car or counterweight guide rail is provided. The elevator guide rail block assembly includes a framework and a plurality of rotatable cams attached to the framework. An actuator element is configured to actuate rotation of the plurality of rotatable cams. A clamp structure is attached to the framework and spaced apart from the plurality of rotatable cams. In a rotated orientation, the combination of the plurality of rotatable cams and the clamp structure form a clamping action configured to secure the elevator guide rail block assembly to an elevator car or counterweight guide rail.

    Abstract: An installation gauge for use in an elevator hoistway is provided. The installation gauge includes a platform assembly and a frame assembly configured to support the platform assembly. The frame assembly includes one or more safety assemblies and one or more guide assemblies. Opposing guide shoes are connected to each of the one or more guide assemblies. The opposing guide shoes are centered about a guide rail and configured to determine a centerline of the guide rail. A lift assembly is configured to facilitate hoisting of the platform assembly and the frame assembly within the elevator hoistway. A plurality of safety ropes couples the lift assembly to the one or more safety assemblies. A climbing rope is attached to the lift assembly. The determination of the centerline of the guide rail can be used as a basis to install other hoistway equipment.

The break-away canopy assembly includes a plurality of spaced apart canopy posts in a substantially vertical orientation. A first support framework is connected to one or more of the spaced apart canopy posts. A second support framework is connected to one or more of the spaced apart canopy posts and opposes the first support framework. The first and second support frameworks each have connected first and second extension assemblies. One or more roof sections span and are connected to the first and second support frameworks. The first and second extension assemblies of the first support framework and the first and second extension assemblies of the second support frameworks are each configured to separate from each other in the event of an uncontrolled descent of the work platform.

    Abstract: A construction apparatus is provided and span members connected together at a first end by a first connector, the span members having a first end, a second end and a length. Sill brackets are connected to the first end of the span members and are configured to seat against an entrance sill. A second connector connects the span members together at a second end and is configured to seat against a hoistway structure. A plurality of apertures is arranged on the span members and configured to allow a connection to hoist devices. The span members rotate about the sill brackets and the lengths of the span members are longer than a horizontal distance from the entrance sill to the hoistway structure such that when the apparatus is in a seated orientation, the construction apparatus rests in an inclined orientation with respect to a substantially horizontal axis.

A line extends from the first rail clamp assembly through an aperture in the sensor plate and is connected to the second rail clamp assembly.
