Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a sheet of perforated paper towelling off a roll of paper towelling. The dispenser has a casing with a mounting for the roll in its upper portion and an outlet at the bottom. The outlet is substantially narrower than the width of the towelling. A roller is mounted in the casing for guiding the towelling from the roll mounting to the outlet. The roller maintains the towelling at its full width. The towelling is gathered inwardly in passing from the roller to the outlet. Upon pulling the towelling out of the dispenser, the towelling begins to tear inwardly from its edges along the first line of perforations as the first line of perforations passes over the roller to separate a sheet from the remainder of the towelling. The tearing operation is completed outside the casing leaving a tail end of towelling to be grasped during the next dispensing operation.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing paper towelling from a roll. The dispenser has a casing for holding the roll. The casing has an open bottom. A bottom member is mounted on the casing. The bottom member is movable between a closed position where it substantially closes the open bottom of the casing, and defines, with the front of the casing, an outlet for the towelling; and an open position where it allows access into the casing to enable the leading edge of the paper towelling to be grasped should it end up within the casing.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing folded, interleaved towels. The dispenser has front and back walls joined by side walls and a bottom wall with a central paper towel dispensing slot therein extending between the side walls. The dispenser has supports on the inner surfaces of the front and back walls for partially supporting sub-stacks of a stack of paper towels carried in the dispenser. The supports reduce the weight of towels carried by the bottom sub-stack of towels making it easier to dispense the towels. The dispenser also has support surfaces at the bottom for supporting the bottom towel by narrow portions adjacent its front and back sides making it easier to dispense one towel at a time.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a paper sheet from a paper roll having a core. The dispenser can have a spindle made of two separate sleeves. The sleeves are inserted in opposite ends of the core and frictionally retained therein. A support is rotatably mounted in one sleeve to support the roll. A brake member is rotatably mounted in the other sleeve and selectively cooperates therewith to brake rotation of the roll on the support.

Abstract: The invention is to a spindle for use in mounting a toilet paper roll thereon, and more particularly, for use in mounting a coil of toilet paper, without the core, on the spindle. The spindle has a flange near its outer end that stops movement of the core as the toilet paper roll is pushed onto the spindle during mounting. Continued pushing of the roll onto the spindle while the core is stopped, strips the coil of paper off the core. The coil ends up on the spindle and the core is disposed of.

Abstract: A large roll toilet paper dispenser having means for dispensing the toilet paper in a twice folded-over condition to strengthen the paper. The twice folded-over dispensed paper permits thinner paper to be used. The dispenser can also have means for minimizing bunching of the paper while it is being dispensed so that it can be easier to tear. The dispenser further has means making it easier to dispense the paper. These means can include means for locating the paper outlet opening in a more accessible position, and means for making the locating of the paper end easier.

Abstract: A two-roll toilet paper dispenser having a vertical spindle with stop means part way up the spindle. The stop means divides the spindle into a lower portion on which a first toilet paper roll is mounted in an operative position and an upper portion on which a second toilet paper roll is mounted in a storage position. Actuating means are provided for operating the stop means to permit a roll resting thereon in the storage position to drop down the spindle to the operative position.

Abstract: A two roll sheet material dispenser cabinet for paper towelling and the like has an automatic transfer system from one roll to the other when one roll is exhausted. The dispenser feeds sheet material sequentially and comprises a cabinet with first and second roll stations and a feed mechanism to feed sheet material from the rolls to a dispensing opening. The feed mechanism has a gripping roller, and a pressure plate pressed against the roller to provide a feed passage between the roller and plate, a feed mechanism rotates the gripping roller, the sheet material from one roll station is retained in the feed passage while sheet material from the other roll station is dispensed. When the sheet material from one roll station is exhausted, the feed mechanism automatically dispenses sheet material from the other station.

Abstract: A bathroom tissue dispenser with a top and bottom tissue roll holder, has fixed spindles and a lockable hinged enclosure over the top spindle. The enclosure makes it difficult to remove sheets from the top roll until the bottom roll has been depleted. The dispenser has a rigid construction and is less prone to damage than existing dispensers.
