  • Patent number: 12107733
Abstract: A virtual device management system for creating and implementing virtual devices and associated methods are provided herein. The system presents to a user a list of devices available for combining to create the virtual device. When the system receives from the user a selection of two or more devices that the user wishes to combine to create the virtual device, the system presents to the user a list of available functions that can be performed by the virtual device based on the selected devices. The system then receives from the user a selection of one or more functions and configures the virtual device to perform the selected functions. The system can also be configured to present, via a user interface via a mobile application running on a user device, a plurality of virtual devices with predetermined functionalities that are created by detecting the various connected devices within an IoT network.

  • Publication number: 20230419083
Abstract: A system and method for improving the ability of a camera to detect objects or events occurring within its field of view and to accurately categorize them using Artificial Intelligence (AI) aided by input from users. The camera may include rules for determining when an object has entered its field of view, and for determining what category of object it is. When a new object is detected, an alert may be sent to a user and optionally to an analytics service as well. The user may provide input confirming whether the category of the event was correctly determined, and the analytics service may apply an AI algorithm to determine what, if any, changes should be made to the rule criteria in the camera. Updated rule criteria may be sent back to the camera thus improving its ability to detect objects in the future.

  • Publication number: 20230336995
Abstract: A system and method for enabling a new network access device to be automatically configured for integration with another existing wireless access device, or group of such devices They disclosed systems optionally uses vendor specific information passed between the devices which may be validated using a cloud based validation service. User input may be obtained verifying that the process of auto configuring the new device should continue. The information about the new and existing access devices may be encrypted, hashed, or otherwise obscured during the automatic configuration process to ensure authenticity. A temporary SSID may be used during the configuration process to avoid mixing normal network traffic with the configuration specific network traffic.

  • Publication number: 20230230461
Abstract: A smart doorbell system suitable for installation within an existing conventional doorbell system is provided which controls the flow of current without any leakage using one single pole dual throw switch selecting between the doorbell chime and a bypass. By presenting current from passing through the existing chime during normal operation, the smart doorbell can be powered at almost all times using the home’s existing transformer. Only when the smart doorbell’s button is pressed will the current be temporarily diverted to the existing chime so as to enable it to emit the desired notification sound. A small battery can provide power to the smart doorbell during the few brief periods when the doorbell is powered and thus no power is provided to the smart doorbell from the home’s transformer.
