Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for forming a core layer for a plurality of information carrying cards, a resulting core layer, and a resulting information carrying card. A first portion of a crosslinkable polymer composition is dispensed onto the first thermoplastic layer. A second thermoplastic layer having a plurality of through-holes therein is then applied. A second portion of the crosslinkable polymer composition is dispensed into each through-hole. An inlay layer is placed over the polymer composition inside each through-hole. A third portion of the crosslinkable polymer composition is dispensed over each inlay layer. A third thermoplastic layer or a release film is placed over the third portion of the crosslinkable polymer composition to provide a layered structure. Each respective inlay layer is configured to be movable and/or self-center inside each through-hole in the presence of the crosslinkable polymer composition when the layered structure is pressed on a pressure.

  • Patent number: 12287869
Abstract: A Secure Environment Public Register (SEPR) provides a method and system that allows precious metals in the shape of bar(s) or units to be certified, specially numbered to provide exact linkage to an owner, allow secure movement of precious metals between secure facilities, and though Blockchain allow secure transfer of ownership between individuals and organizations. The SEPR allows gold and other precious metals to be easily held and traded in commerce with all the advantages of holding precious metals. The SEPR system allows exact audits of the metal bars on hand and avoids over-selling units since each bar is serialized and ownership is documented in a public register.

  • Patent number: 12288455
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for identifying wildfire in satellite imagery. In some implementations, a server obtains a satellite image of a geographic region and a date corresponding to when the satellite image was generated. The server determines a number of pixels in the satellite image that are indicated as on fire. The server obtains satellite imagery of the geographic region from before the date. The server generates a statistical distribution from the satellite imagery. The server determines a likelihood that the satellite image illustrates fire based on a comparison of the determined number of pixels in the satellite image that are indicated as on fire to the generated statistical distribution. The server can compare the determined likelihood to a threshold. In response to comparing the determined likelihood to the threshold, the server provides an indication that the satellite image illustrates fire.

  • Publication number: 20250128991
Abstract: Methods for making synthetic stone items from industrial wastes are disclosed. Industrial wastes such as waste to energy ash are used as binders, which when mixed with activators, act as substitutes for Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), with the same uses of OPC, to make concrete and other synthetic stone items. Methods are disclosed for seeding the industrial wastes with zeolite nuclei, allowing initial zeolite formation, and then arresting the zeolite formation, plus seeding those industrial wastes with porosity components. Then upon mixing with activators, these seeded binders result in synthetic stones with porosity and with distributed arrested zeolites all of which aid self-healing of the synthetic stone and in the permanent capture of atmospheric impurities.

  • Patent number: 12271065
Abstract: An optical modulator includes a modulation region, an input port, an output port, and a modulation actuator. The modulation region includes an inhomogeneous arrangement of two or more different materials having different refractive indexes to structure the modulation region to manipulate one or more optical properties of an optical carrier wave in response to a modulation bias. The input port is optically coupled to the modulation region to inject the optical carrier wave into the modulation region. The modulation actuator is disposed proximate to the modulation region and adapted to apply the modulation bias to the modulation region to generate a modulated wave. The modulation bias adjusts at least one of the different refractive indexes of the inhomogeneous arrangement to provide variable control of the one or more optical properties of the optical carrier wave. The output port is optically coupled to the modulation region to receive the modulated wave.

  • Publication number: 20250111890
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a closed loop aptamer development system that leverages in vitro experiments and in silico computation and artificial intelligence-based techniques to iteratively improve a process for identifying binders that can bind a molecular target. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to obtaining, using an experimental assay, experimental data for a set of aptamers. The experimental data includes multiple pairs of data, each pair of data having: (i) an aptamer sequence for an aptamer from a set of aptamers, and (ii) a measurement for the characteristic of the aptamer with respect to a given target. A reward model is fine-tuned, using the experimental data, to predict a function-approximation metric for the characteristic of each aptamer in the set of aptamers. A decoder model is fine-tuned for generating novel aptamer sequences based on the function-approximation metric generated by the reward model for the novel aptamer sequences.
