Abstract: A method of making a surface-mountable pixel engine package comprises providing an array of spaced-apart conductive pillars and an insulating mold compound laterally disposed between the conductive pillars on a substrate together defining a planarized surface. Pixel engines comprising connection posts are printed to the conductive pillars so that each of the connection posts is in electrical contact with one of the conductive pillars. The pixel engines are tested to determine known-good pixel engines. An optically clear mold compound is provided over the planarized surface and tested pixel engines. Optically clear mold compound is adhered to a tape and the substrate is removed. The optically clear mold compound, the insulating mold compound, the conductive pillars, the optically clear mold compound, and the tested pixel engines are singulated to provide pixel packages that comprise the pixel engines and the known-good pixel engines are transferred to a reel or tray.

Abstract: An electro-optically controlled active-matrix system comprises a system substrate, row wires extending in a row direction disposed on the system substrate, a row controller providing a row electrical signal to each row wire, column light-pipes extending in a column direction disposed on the system substrate, a column controller providing a column optical signal to each column light-pipe, and pixels disposed over the system substrate. Each pixel can comprise a pixel circuit that is uniquely responsive to a row wire and to a column light-pipe, the pixel circuit receiving the row electrical signal from the row wire and receiving the column optical signal from the column light-pipe. In some embodiments, column wires carrying column electrical signals extend in a column direction over the system substrate and the pixel circuit is capacitively coupled to the row wire, the column wire, or both.

Abstract: A hydrogen production system comprises a hydrogen pyrolysis reactor which has a hydrocarbon input, an electrical input and at least one hydrogen output. The hydrogen production system also comprises a hydrogen-fuelled generator. Means are provided to route part of the hydrogen from one of the at least one hydrogen outputs to the hydrogen-fuelled generator. The hydrogen-fuelled generator then generates an electrical output, which is routed to the electrical input of the hydrocarbon pyrolysis reactor. A related method of operating a hydrogen production system is also described.
Abstract: A light therapy device for the disinfection treatment of fungal, bacterial and viral infections that can be applied in real time to both living and inanimate things, inside and outside the body is provided. The light therapy device has a base unit and a diffuser cap releasably connected to the base unit, the diffuser cap has a reflector element that varies depending on the shape and size of the area to be disinfected. The main parts of the diffuser cap are: a reflector element, a connecting element and a locking element. The reflector element is positioned above the light source, directing its light to the area to be treated, its shape is adapted to the area to be treated. The spectral range of the light therapy device is between the light wavelengths of 401 and 490 nanometres, and its light intensity is between 1 and 2000 J/cm2, depending on the area to be disinfected and the degree of infection.
Abstract: A magnetometer includes: a substrate; a diamond layer on the substrate, in which the diamond layer includes a defect sub-layer including multiple lattice point defects; a microwave field transmitter; an optical source configured to emit light including a first wavelength that excites the multiple lattice point defects from a ground state to an excited state; a photodetector arranged to detect photoluminescence including a second wavelength emitted from the defect sub-layer, in which the first wavelength is different from the second wavelength; and a magnet arranged adjacent to the defect sub-layer.
Abstract: An circuit includes a first inductive coil and a second inductive coil each including a plurality of metal traces. The first and second inductive coils are each configured to receive a first signal from an electromagnetic field and generate respective first and second output voltages. Each of the first inductive coil and the second inductive coil are configured to inductively couple to the electromagnetic field. A first circuit element is configured to receive the first output voltage and generate a first response at a first power level of the first output voltage. A second circuit element is configured to receive the second output voltage and transition to an active state to perform one or more functions when the second output voltage exceeds a second power level. The first and second power levels are related to movement of the first and second inductive coils through the electromagnetic field.
Abstract: A base unit device for effective mixing and dispensing of a material, and for quick and efficient cleaning of all components. The base unit defines a base internal cavity, and a removable auger and a removable mixer each rotatably located in the base internal cavity. A mixer support ledge of the mixer can overlap an auger support ledge of the auger to prevent the auger from being withdrawn from the base unit when the mixer and the auger are operatively assembled with the base unit. The mixer can include a locking end featuring locking tabs that can engage with a surface of a sidewall of the base unit that defines a mixer bore, thereby locking the mixer and the auger in position during operation. The base unit can be utilized with a hopper defining a hopper internal cavity for storing the material and providing it to the base internal cavity.
Abstract: In some embodiments, techniques for creating a fabricable segmented design for a physical device are provided. A computing system receives a design specification. The computing system generates a proposed segmented design based on the design specification. The computing system determines one or more fabricable segmented designs based on the proposed segmented design. The computing system determines an overall fabrication loss value based on the one or more fabricable segmented designs. The computing system backpropagates a gradient of the overall fabrication loss value to create an updated design specification.
Abstract: There is provided a method, comprising: accessing medical images of subjects, depicting contrast phases of contrast administered to the respective subject, accessing for a first subset of the medical images, metadata indicating a respective contrast phase, wherein a second subset of the medical images are unassociated with metadata, mapping each respective contrast phase of the contrast phases to a respective time interval indicating estimated amount of time from a start of contrast administration to time of capture of the respective medical image, creating a training dataset, by labelling images of the first subset with a label indicating the respective time interval, and including the second subset as non-labelled images, and training the ML model using the training dataset for generating an outcome of a target time interval indicating estimated amount of time from the start of contrast administration, in response to an input of a target medical image.
