Patents Assigned to XAAR Limited
  • Patent number: 5010356
Abstract: A method of reducing the wettability of non-vitreous surfaces, and ink jet recording heads including a surface having reduced wettability, are provided wherein a layer of cured siloxane is formed on the non-vitreous surface and a layer comprising at least one fluorosilane is formed on the siloxane layer.

  • Patent number: 5010125
Abstract: An ink jet ink composition useful for printing on plain paper at room temperature comprises a colloidal suspension of a nonaqueous solvent (e.g. selected glycol ethers) and dispersed particles comprising a natural resin or synthetic polymer which is insoluble in water but soluble in the solvent at room temperature, and a dyestuff which is soluble in or bindable to the resin or polymer at room temperature but substantially insoluble in the solvent at room temperature. The ink composition is fluid and has a low viscosity at room temperature.

  • Patent number: 5003679
Abstract: A pulsed droplet ink jet printer has at least one channel communicating with a nozzle. The side wall of the channel is formed as a shear mode piezo-electric actuator. Electrodes applied to the actuator enable an electric field to be applied such that the actuator moves in the direction of the field to change the liquid pressure in the channel and thereby eject a droplet through the nozzle. The actuator can be made in two parts so as to deform, in cross section, to a chevron formation.

  • Patent number: 4992808
Abstract: A multi-channel array, pulsed droplet ink jet printer comprises a plurality of channels each communicating with a respective nozzle. A side wall of each channel is formed as a shear mode piezo-electric actuator. Electrodes applied to the actuators enable electric fields to be applied such that the actuators move laterally in the direction of the field to change the liquid pressure in the channels for effecting droplet ejection through the channel nozzles. The actuators can be made in two parts so as to deform, in cross section, to a chevron formation.
