Abstract: New medicaments and compositions having an antiperspirant agent and an antimicrobial agent, and methods based thereof, for control, prevention, amelioration, or treatment of perspiration and topical microbial contamination or infection of skin of the hands, feet, groin, face and other areas of the body, along with reduction or control of symptoms and side effects of such perspiration and microbial contamination or infection, are disclosed. Such medicaments and compositions can be used for various cosmetic, medicinal or pharmaceutical purposes, including control of microbial growth on gloved hands, control of microbial contamination of hands, control of chronic irritation or infection of hands, feet, groin, head, or other areas of skin associated with athletic participation, control of facial acne or other similar conditions, as a cosmetic foundation, or for control of foot odor or excessive foot perspiration.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for selectively photobleaching or killing pigmented tissues by photochemically converting pigments in the tissues using light and specifically two-photon excitation. Phototoxic products thereby produced then kill pigmented cells. Hyperthermia or an exogenous agent can also be added to augment efficacy. The present invention is also directed to selective thermal destruction of pigmented tissues using related optical means.

Abstract: New intracorporeal radiodense medicaments and certain medical uses and methods for use of such high energy phototherapeutic medicaments for treatment of human or animal tissue are described, wherein a primary active component of such medicaments is a halogenated xanthene or halogenated xanthene derivative. The halogenated xanthenes constitute a family of potent radiosensitizers that become photoactivated upon irradiation of the treatment site with ionizing radiation.

Preferably, the halogenated xanthene is Rose Bengal or a functional derivative of Rose Bengal.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to sanitizing compositions or preparations comprising of a combination of an alcohol-based, volatile biocide and an additional low-concentration, non-volatile antimicrobial agent. In one embodiment of the present invention, the sanitizer preparation comprises a surface sanitizing composition or preparation comprised of at least: (1) a biocide comprising a volatile alcohol at a concentration of from greater than or equal to 30% to less than or equal to 70% w/w; and (2) one or more non-volatile antimicrobial agent that is soluble in said alcohol at a concentration of from greater than or equal to 0.001% to less than or equal to 0.1% w/w.
