Patents Assigned to XENEX HEALTHCARE SERVICES, LLC
  • Patent number: 8816301
Abstract: Germicidal lamp apparatuses are provided with lamps disposed between upper and lower bases of a support structure. In some embodiments, a longitudinal axis of a lamp is at an acute angle greater than 0° relative to a region of the lower base between the lamp and another lamp. In addition, the longitudinal axis of the other lamp is at either a right angle or an obtuse angle relative to said region. Other embodiments of apparatuses include a reflector system disposed between the upper and lower bases which is common to the lamps and which includes a reflector with slanted peripheral edge. Other germicidal lamp apparatuses are provided which include a reflector with multiple sections each contoured to manipulate directionality of light emitted from a subset of lamps. In such cases, the apparatuses are configured to move the reflector and/or collectively move the lamps during illumination of the lamps.

  • Publication number: 20130330235
Abstract: Systems are disclosed which include processor-executable program instructions for receiving data regarding characteristics of a room in which one or more disinfection sources are arranged and determining, based on the received data, individual operating parameter/s for the one or more disinfection sources. Other systems are provided which include processor-executable program instructions for discerning, for each of a plurality of disinfection sources, a target location, region, object or surface within a room in which the disinfection sources are arranged. The systems further include program instructions for comparing the target locations/regions/objects/surfaces and executing corrective actions upon detecting two or more locations/objects/surfaces are within a predetermined distance of each other and/or upon detecting two or more regions overlap.

  • Publication number: 20130224086
Abstract: Systems are provided which include a disinfection apparatus, a hollow chamber comprising an object entry port, and a means for tumbling objects placed inside the chamber. In some cases, the hollow chamber is configured such that a germicide projected from the disinfection apparatus is transmitted into an interior cavity of the chamber. In other cases, the hollow chamber may include an input port configured for coupling the chamber to the disinfection apparatus such that a germicide generated by the disinfection apparatus is transmitted into the hollow chamber via the input port when the chamber is coupled to the disinfection apparatus. In other cases, the disinfection apparatus may be disposed within the hollow chamber and configured to generate a germicide in the form of a plasma, ultraviolet light, a non-aqueous vapor, a non-aqueous liquid or a gas which is molecularly configured to deactivate or kill microorganisms.

  • Publication number: 20120313014
Abstract: Apparatuses are disclosed which include a discharge lamp configured to emit ultraviolet light, a power circuit configured to operate the discharge lamp, and a reflector system configured to redirect ultraviolet light emitted from the discharge lamp. In some embodiments, the apparatuses include a support structure containing the power circuit and supporting the discharge lamp. In some of such embodiments, the reflector system is configured to redirect ultraviolet light propagating away from the support structure to a region exterior to the apparatus and which is between approximately 2 feet and approximately 4 feet from a floor of a room in which the apparatus is arranged. In other embodiments, the reflector system may be additionally or alternatively configured to redirect ultraviolet light propagating away from the support structure to encircle an exterior surface of the apparatus. In any case, the reflector system may, in some embodiments, include a repositionable reflector.

  • Publication number: 20120313532
Abstract: The apparatuses disclosed herein include a discharge lamp configured to emit ultraviolet and visible light, an optical filter configured to attenuate visible light, and a power circuit configured to operate the discharge lamp. Some embodiments of the apparatuses are configured such that ultraviolet light emitted from the discharge lamp and passed through the optical filter encircles an exterior surface of the apparatus. Some cases of the apparatuses include a sensor system configured to monitor a first parameter associated with the operation of the discharge lamp and a second parameter associated with the transmittance of the optical filter. Some of the apparatuses include a means for moving the optical filter while the apparatus is in operation. In some cases, the apparatuses may be configured such that the optical filter may be arranged in and out of alignment with the discharge lamp. In some embodiments, the optical filter may be a multifaceted.
