  • Publication number: 20220385772
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for scanning a document at a scan capable device. The method and systems comprise receiving user credentials from a graphical user interface, displaying scan capable devices on a network, creating a shared network folder accessible to a scan capable device, sending a user credential corresponding to the shared network folder to the scan capable device, creating a selectable data entry on the scan capable device corresponding to the network folder, and upon selection of the selectable data entry, digitizing a document and sending the digitized document to the shared network folder corresponding to the selectable data entry.

  • Patent number: 8203768
Abstract: The presently described embodiments provide for halftone-aligned averaging and noise reduction in a calibration method and associated system. Halftone-aligned averaging is implemented, in one form, as a method of averaging in which the window over which an average is computed is a multiple of the halftone period. Noise reduction, in one illustrative embodiment, comprises discarding windows having an average outside of the range from the 5th to the 95th percentiles of all windows for a patch.

  • Patent number: 8167418
Abstract: A method of feeding ink sticks into an imaging device enables identification of data useful for device control. The method includes inserting at least one ink stick into an ink loader, the at least one ink stick including a plurality of code element patterns formed in the ink stick, each code element pattern having a plurality of code elements that include a first code element identifying a start of a code element pattern and a second code element identifying an end of the code element pattern, each code element pattern being configured to generate a same coded signal pattern; urging the ink stick toward a melt device; actuating at least one sensor in the imaging device with the plurality of code element patterns to generate a predetermined coded pattern of signals; and comparing the predetermined coded pattern of signals to identify a code word.

  • Publication number: 20040136607
Abstract: In a machine-fed scanner, orientation angles of edges of an image bearing substrate are obtained and used to calculate image shear and/or skew. A running weighted average of the image skew may be kept in a memory. When a skew value is obtained for a given image, it may be determined whether the skew value is within a predetermined range. If the skew value is within the predetermined range, the skew value is used to determine an image revision to compensate for the skew, and the skew value is incorporated into the running weighted average skew. If the skew value is not within the predetermined range, it is discarded and the running weighted average skew is used to determine an appropriate image skew revision. The running weighted average of the shear may also be kept in a memory. A shear value is obtained for each image, and incorporated into the running weighted average shear. Shear revision is performed based on the running weighted average shear.

  • Patent number: 5777659
Abstract: A raster output scanner for use in an electrophotographic printer uses two light sources to create two scan lines on a photoreceptor simultaneously. The two light sources are operated in an alternating fashion, and the intensity of the light sources is monitored by a single sensor. The sensor is associated with a reflex-based exposure control system, which operates to shut off a particular light source when the exposure created by the light source reaches a threshold level.
