Abstract: A method and system for automatically selecting an accurate job tracking source with respect to each rendering device. An output management solution in association with a device manager can be configured to include a device-based accounting source, a job tracking agent source, and a file import source. The job tracking data sources can be configured by an administrator and can be ranked within the device manager based on an accuracy setting. The device-based accounting source can be selected as the most accurate source upon detection of a built-in job tracking capability with respect to the multi-function device. The job tracking agent source and/or the file import source can be selected as the most accurate source if the built-in job tracking capability is not available. A historical job tracking database can be searched by the device manager in order to detect the job tracking agent source.
Abstract: A latching assembly for mounting a printhead to a plate assembly of a printing machine includes a first elongated actuator and a second elongated actuator defining a bore to slidably receive the first actuator. A first spring is disposed between the heads of the first and second actuators, while a second spring is disposed between the second actuator and the printhead to exert a clamping force. A cam mechanism is defined between the plate assembly and the ends of the actuators that is configured to draw the head of the first actuator toward the plate assembly upon rotation of the first actuator and to independently draw the head of the second actuator toward the plate assembly upon rotation of said second actuator. Movement of said first actuator exerts an initial clamping force while movement of the second actuator produces a final clamping force on the printhead.
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a computerized method and system for implementing a multi-tiered approach to defining printer driver configuration settings. A printer driver configuration management utility allows establishing settings for multiple printer drivers and multiple printing devices with a single multi-tiered configuration file. In a network environment the configuration file is stored in a location accessible by a client prior to utilizing a printer. A single multi-tiered configuration file makes it possible to pre-configure and post-configure multiple printer drivers. Compatible installed printer drivers check for the configuration file and update settings accordingly. Each setting may have rules of behavior such as a default value, enforced default value, value setting lock and disallowance of a value. An alternate value, such as a secondary value, can be deferred to when a primary setting value is not supported for a particular driver.

Abstract: A method and system generates and administers an individualized student worksheet. A set of problems and a unique embedded data pattern are generated and printed on a worksheet substrate. A teacher may point a camera pen point at an area of the pattern to identify the substrate and a location on the substrate. Based on this information, the method and system may access a worksheet file to identify the problem whose physical position corresponds to the captured embedded data. The system may present the problem's solution to the teacher, who may then use the pen to mark the problem as correct or incorrect, and optionally annotate notes for the student, teacher or others. The camera pen may collect the teacher's marks and annotations and store them with the worksheet file for later retrieval.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides processes for the preparation of unsaturated polyesters. In embodiments, a process of the present disclosure includes reacting an organic diol with a cyclic alkylene carbonate in the presence of a first catalyst to thereby form a polyalkoxy diol, optionally adding thereto a further amount of cyclic alkylene carbonate in the presence of a second catalyst, and subsequently polycondensing the resulting mixture with a dicarboxylic acid in combination with an anhydride.
Abstract: An inkjet array has been developed that enables inlets for one group of inkjet ejectors to be laterally offset from the nozzles of the inkjet ejectors in the group and also enables inlets for another group of inkjet ejectors to be laterally offset from the nozzles of the inkjet ejectors in the other group. The lateral offset distance increases the distance between the inlets of the two groups to provide a wider bonding area between the two groups and improve the fluidic isolation between the two groups of inkjet ejectors.
Abstract: A method of forming a high resolution feature on a substrate, the method includes, depositing a liquid composition comprising a substance and a solvent onto the substrate to form deposited features, heating the deposited features to a heating temperature during or after the depositing to form an intermediate feature having a central region and an edge region, applying an adhesive substance to at least a portion of a surface of the intermediate feature, and removing the adhesive substance together with at least a portion of the central region of the intermediate feature to form the high resolution feature on the substrate.

Abstract: According to aspects illustrated herein, there is provided a user interface system for preparing an output document of a digital printing device having a user interface, a set of output options for the output document. The user interface enables selection of at least one output option from the set of output options. The system further provides a display device operatively connected to the user interface and configured to display at least one user interface mimic for the output document, with the at least one user interface mimic providing a graphical representation of the output document based on selection of the output options. After displaying the at least one user interface mimic, the user interface allows users to modify the output options prior to printing the output document. Then, the system updates the display of the at least one user interface mimic, based on modifications to the output options, prior to printing the output document.
