Abstract: The present embodiments are generally directed to a belt for use in an electrostatographic apparatus that is made by applying the substrate and various layers onto the inside of a mandrel, rather than on the outside of the mandrel. The method of the present embodiments allows formation of the belt from the outer layer in to the inner layers, which provides a more effective method of making the belt as well as a belt with enhanced properties. The tensile member of the belts comprises fibrous materials and is formed in place with the rest of the layers.

  • Publication number: 20120002980
Abstract: Methods and printing devices herein establish a current physical position of a printing device and then receive current physical position readings from different portable computing devices (when the portable computing devices or its users are physically interacting with the printing device). The portable computing devices each have a physical position locator. The method then processes the current physical position readings to refine the current physical position of the printing device.

  • Patent number: 8090215
Abstract: A system determines the noise level of image data by high pass filtering image data. Absolutes values of the high pass filtered image data are determined. Thereafter, multiple mean values for absolute values less than a predetermined number of threshold values are determined. Based upon the determined mean values, a plurality of estimated mean values is calculated, each estimated mean value being calculated from a combination of two determined mean values. The noise of the image is determined from a combination of the minimum estimated mean value and the maximum estimated mean value. This noise can be optionally used by a sigma filter, at Step S740, to sigma filter the image data.

  • Patent number: 8089659
Abstract: 4+ color management sequentially processes four colors at a time from among the 4+ colors to leverage solution capability using a 4-color management tools. In methods and apparatus for processing 4+ colors, received information of 4+ colors may be processed in a first stage using four colors of the 4+ colors, such as CMYO. The processed four colors are then mapped into three virtual colors. The mapped three virtual colors and one additional unprocessed color of the 4+ colors are then processed in a second stage using a 4-color tool. From this, a second color model of at least five colors (4+) is generated. The resulting four colors determine five printer colors, and are then mapped into three virtual colors. The mapped three virtual colors and one additional unprocessed color of the 4+ colors are then processed in a third stage using a 4-color tool. From this, a third color model of at least five colors (4+) is generated.

  • Patent number: 8089668
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate improving error estimation for calibration error due to clipping of pixels, and compensation therefor, during calibration of a scanner or printer. Calibration patches are measured at a first maximum pixel value threshold and at a slightly lower threshold value. Pixel values for the patches at each threshold are averaged, and a linear model is constructed, which is employed to predict error due to pixel clipping. The error is then compensated for when calibrating the scanner or printer.
