Abstract: According to an aspect of the invention, an image processing apparatus includes a count unit, a transform unit, a first calculation unit, a second calculation unit, and a binarization unit. The count unit counts the number of pixels of an original binary image. The transform unit transforms the original binary image into a transformed image based on a given transform level. The first calculation unit calculates the number of pixels of the transformed image, based on the given transform level and the number of pixels of the original binary image. The second calculation unit calculates a threshold level based on the number of pixels for each pixel value of the transformed image and the number of pixels of the transformed image. The binarization unit binarizes the transformed image based on the threshold level.

  • Publication number: 20110128563
Abstract: A system and methodology are described herein that enable a network with a plurality of independent computers, with differing print drivers having generated various otherwise potentially incompatible page description language print jobs, to successfully interface with a centralized printer system through a plurality of lines by virtue of on-the-fly adaptation of the page description language stream job headers before the jobs go to a subsequently designated print device. The header is consumed and parsed to mitigate print-stream header differences by transforming the header commands into page description language commands and imbedding the page description language commands in the original page description language data, and therefrom sending on a resulting pure page description language stream.

  • Publication number: 20110127331
Abstract: A system reveals a 2D barcode in a document. A 2D barcode generator selects the placement and at least one colorant combination of an image and at least one colorant combination for a 2D barcode on a document, where the at least one colorant combination of the image and the 2D barcode form a metameric pair. A print system receives data from the 2D barcode generator and places the image and the 2D barcode on the document. A light source selected or tuned to a wavelength corresponding to the colorant combinations utilized by the print system reveals the 2D barcode placed thereon. A decoding element decodes and extracts data from the revealed 2D barcode.
