Abstract: A printing apparatus or printing system that uses multiple print engines to form an image on a substrate. The printing apparatus or printing system may be a surface printing system or a reverse printing system. Each of the multiple print engines has at least one color station. The color stations are arranged in the print engines and between the multiple print engines based on whether the printing system is a surface printing system or a reverse printing system to control the order in which colorant is formed on a substrate. Multiple print engines allow for, among other things, a greater color gamut and therefore assists in expansion of the standard color gamut.

Abstract: An exposure device includes plural light emitting elements that light in turn for exposure, plural driving elements that drive each of the light emitting elements and a time changing member that changes one time period of a switching signal to switch light emitting elements driven by the driving elements among the plurality of light emitting elements in turn from a reference time, depending on an image forming speed, wherein the time changing member changes the one time period from the reference time for some of the light emitting elements during one main scan, and maintains the one time period as the reference time for the remaining light emitting elements.
Abstract: A monitoring apparatus includes: a reception section that receives information including first use mode information from an first information processing apparatus; a storage section that stores the first use mode information received by the reception section; and a transmission section, when the reception section receives fault information together with the first use mode information from the first information processing apparatus, that transmits information concerning countermeasures against a fault to the first information processing apparatus based on the first use mode information and pieces of second use mode information, stored in the storage section, of second information processing apparatuses which normally operate.
Abstract: A gear switching mechanism for a printing machine comprises at least one pair of input and driven gears, each pair rotationally mounted on a corresponding common axle. The input gear of each pair may be coupled to a common drive, while each driven gear is coupled to a separate output. A rotational gear coupling is mounted to translate along each axle to selectively engage and disengage the corresponding pair of input and driven gears. The rotational gear coupling includes a cam follower that slides along a cam profile of a cam shuttle. The shuttle defines a cam profile that is normal to the common axles. In one embodiment, the cam shuttle translates linearly, while in another embodiment, the shuttle rotates. The cam profile is configured to selectively engage and disengage the rotational couplings of each pair of input and driven gears.
Abstract: A computer implemented system and method for generating a game, such as spot-the-difference are provided. The method includes receiving a user-selected original image and storing the image in memory. From the original image, the method includes automatically generating a pair of images which are visually identical except for a predetermined number of random localized modifications, and providing the pair of images to the user as a game which can be played by spotting differences between the pair of images as a result of the modifications.
