Abstract: Systems and methods for performing fault analysis using numerically coded time series data are disclosed. First time series data, including a plurality of first time entries and an associated first data value for each first time entry, may be received for a machine variable for a first printer. Second time series data, including a plurality of second time entries and an associated second data value for each second time entry, may be received for the machine variable for each of a plurality of second printers. For each second printer, a similarity measurement may be determined for the first time series data for the first printer and the second time series data for the second printer. One or more closest matching second printers may be determined based on the similarity measurements. An association may be displayed between the first printer and each closest matching second printer.

Abstract: An image characterized by an original image gamut is received in an imaging device characterized by a device gamut. The original image gamut is enhanced to a first set of modified color values that occupy a greater fraction of the device gamut than the original image gamut. The modified color values of each pixel are mapped to new color values within the device gamut.

Abstract: A banding adjustment method for an ink jet imaging device having a plurality of printheads comprises printing a plurality of test bands, each test band being printed by a plurality of printheads such that each printhead of the plurality prints a section of each test band. The drop mass generated by each printhead of the plurality is selectively adjusted between a default drop mass and an adjusted drop mass to print each test band of the plurality such that the plurality of printed test bands have various combinations of sections having the default drop mass and the adjusted drop mass. The user is then prompted to select a test band from the plurality of printed test bands.

Abstract: A multi-dimensional printer profile look-up table for color correction is generated. First, an initial estimate for a black (K) component in a four-color color space for received color signals in the device independent color space is generated by using a three-dimensional parametric function. Next, initial estimates for the three non-black color components of the four-color color space are generated from the generated initial estimate for the black (K) component and the received color signals. Then, a printer profile including a map that maps the device independent color space to the four-color color space is generated using the generated initial estimates for the black (K) and the three non-black color components in the four-color color space.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus that configures an operation screen formed by one or more user interface components in which a parameter value is a base of displaying the user component, the apparatus includes: a meta-information storage that stores meta-information in which a user having a privilege to change a parameter value and an influence range which is under influence of the changed parameter are stored; a parameter storage that stores a parameter value set by a user; a parameter change section that changes the parameter value stored in the parameter storage in accordance with a request from a user; and an operation screen configuration section that configures the operation screen to display by specifying the influence range based on the meta-information of each parameter contained in the user interface component, and acquiring the parameter value from the parameter storage.
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to methods and systems for color management in image/text printing or display systems, and more particularly to a system and method for automatically achieving spot color production through use of a plurality of gain matrices per spot color in determining spot color coordinates. Furthermore, this disclosure provides a means for mapping out-of-gamut target spot colors substantially near a boundary of the gamut of an image output device, such as a printer or display.

Abstract: A method of comparing first and second objects in a context comprises: maximizing or minimizing a quantitative comparison of the first object and a mixture of the second object and the context respective to a weighting parameter that controls the mixture; and outputting a comparison value based on the value of the weighting parameter determined by the maximizing or minimizing.
Abstract: As set forth herein, a computer implemented method is used to encode and decode a user-individualized font. A variable alphabet is created and a document is created using this variable alphabet to encode machine readable information. The variable alphabet is communicated to a generalized recognition engine via a predefined font mechanism. The alphabet representation is used to modify the recognition engine, by at least changing one or more template definitions.
Abstract: A decoding apparatus includes a random-number generating section and a decoding section. The random-number generating section generates random numbers according to distribution of original data corresponding to respective quantization indexes. The decoding section generates decoded data on a basis of the random numbers generated by the random-number generating section.
Abstract: Spot color tables, or spot color emulation colorant recipes are updated using information generated during a first and second process color related system calibration. Rather than separately calibrate, through trial and error, individual spot color emulation colorant recipes, information from the first and second general system calibrations is used to adjust spot color recipes. In one embodiment, processing an existing or initial spot color recipe through both a first system model and a second system model generates a device independent color difference. A colorant difference is then determined by transforming a predicted color difference according to estimated partial derivatives of aspects of the second system model, wherein the partial derivatives relate changes in colorant amounts to changes in parameter values of a machine independent color space.

Abstract: An information processing system includes an acceptance section, a first processing section, a conversion section and a second processing section. The acceptance section accepts first storage location information that is indicative of where a first electronic file in a first storage unit is stored. The first processing section processes the first electronic file in accordance with a first processing content. The conversion section converts the first storage location information to second storage location information that is indicative of where a second electronic file in a second storage unit is stored. The second electronic file has an identical content as that of the first electronic file. The second processing section processes the second electronic file in accordance with a second processing content.
