Patent number: 6714319Abstract: A color marking system includes a control system for maintaining an accurate representation for approximating color space transformation comprising a set of piecewise homeomorphisms. The homeomorphisms and parametric models are selectively adjustable in accordance with printer/display calibrating data. Preferably the homeomorphisms comprise corresponding tetrahedra with domain and co-domain color spaces. If error above a selected level is detected, the tetrahedra are adjusted by calculating new locations for their vertices having a consequence of recomputation of model parameters and converging parametric model performance in accordance with a predetermined objective of the system. An inverse of the model is used for feedforward control of the marking system.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 1999Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventors: Tracy E. Patent number: 6712454Abstract: An ink jet recording head has a plurality of ejectors and an ink supply system. Each of the plurality of ejectors has a pressure generating chamber, a nozzle communicating with the pressure generating chamber, and a pressure generating portion. The ejectors are arrayed two-dimensionally. The ink supply system has a common flow path with which a plurality of the ejectors are interconnected. The pressure generating chambers are filled with ink through the common flow path. A change of pressure is generated in the ink in the pressure generating chambers by the pressure generating portions. Thus, ink droplets are ejected from the nozzles. The common flow path is disposed to overlap the pressure generating chambers two-dimensionally. The common flow path has a constricted shape having wide portions and narrow portions.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2002Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.Inventor: Masakazu Okuda

Patent number: 6714694Abstract: A method for implementing sliding-window image processing for associative operators such as MIN, MAX, AND, and OR is disclosed. For one dimension, the present method divides the image into blocks according to the sliding window size and for each block calculates two sets of partial results, one working from the left boundary of the block and the other working from the right boundary of the block. The partial results from two adjacent blocks can then be combined in one operation to give a final value for any window straddling two adjacent blocks. The total number of operations is proportional to 3M; where M is the scan length as compared to (n−1)M using prior art; where n is the length of the sliding window. The present invention can be extended to two-dimensional arrays and can be extended to support arbitrary window sizes.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2000Date of Patent: March 30, 2004Assignee: Xerox CorporationInventor: Sidney W.
