Abstract: A multi-screen signal processing device includes a main graphics processor and a plurality of sub-graphics processors. The main graphics processor is electrically connected to the plurality of sub-graphics processors respectively. The main graphics processor is used for receiving an external image data, and capable of decoding the external image data and outputting a frame data. Each sub-graphics processor respectively captures a part of the frame data synchronously and outputs a broadcasting signal. The multi-screen signal processing device may be connected to multiple screens to play multiple images at the same time. Moreover, the decoding step using a single graphics processor enables easy synchronization of frames displayed on different screens and saves energy consumed by repeating the decoding step.

  • Publication number: 20110191488
Abstract: A network media processing device includes a network connection module and a graphics processor. The network connection module is electrically connected to the graphics processor directly. The network connection module is used for connecting to a local area network (LAN). Through the LAN, a host may transmit or broadcast digital image data to the network connection module. The network media processing device can receive media data transmitted by the network with a very simple hardware construction. Therefore, the use convenience can be greatly improved when media data is transmitted using a LAN.

  • Publication number: 20070263004
Abstract: The present invention provides an architecture for a plug-in graphics module, comprising the first graphics processing unit (GPU) couples to a low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) channel, the graphics module electrically connected to a north bridge and the GPU. The bridge circuit is capable of transmitting a plurality of data to the graphics module, receiving a processed result from the graphics module, and transmitting the processed result to the memory device for the GPU to access the processed result, and then the GPU outputs the processed result to a panel through the differential signal bus when the graphics module is plugged in the connecter.

  • Patent number: 6982713
Abstract: A method and system for clearing depth and color buffers in a real time graphics rendering system 10. The method and system are able to improve both depth and color buffer clearing. The method and system may utilize a frame flag, a depth clearing module, and a fast color and frame flag clearing module. The system assigns a frame flag to each pixel, which is used to determine whether the current Z value for the pixel is valid. The frame flag may be attached to Z value in the depth buffer. Instead of filling entire depth and color buffers with background values, the system only fills the holes that were not drawn in the previous frame. The fast color and frame flag clearing module traverses a rectangular area, tile by tile, where a tile is a block of pixels, to determine whether each pixel is background by checking the frame flags that are read from the depth buffer.

  • Patent number: 6804758
Abstract: In a method for adaptive arbitration of requests for accessing a memory unit in a multi-stage pipeline engine that includes a plurality of request queues corresponding to the stages of the pipeline engine, each of the request queues is assigned to one of a high-priority group and a low-priority group in accordance with an operating state of the memory unit. The request queues in the high-priority group are then processed prior to the request queues in the low-priority group.

  • Patent number: 6778175
Abstract: The present invention, a method of the arbitration of memory request for a computer graphics system, consecutively services the requests having the same type in the same period, thereby increasing the chance of page-hit. In this arbitration method, the length of a fixed period is defined by the 3-D graphics engine in accordance with the amount of memory cycles or the amount of the requests, and is used for controlling the amount of the requests of each type. The length of the period can be the cycles of servicing a block comprising a tile or several tiles. Alternatively, instead of defining a fixed length of the period, the 3-D graphics engine can choose another arbitration method of the present invention. Another arbitration method of the present invention is to mark a message at the end of the drawing block, so that the memory control can decide to rotate the service order to the next type of requests according to the block-end message received.
