Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a handheld medical device comprising a pen-like exterior casing accommodating: an electrical impulse generator, a holder for an electrical power source, such as a battery, for powering the impulse generator, one or more electrodes incorporated in a proximal end of the casing, a proximal end of said electrode(s) suitable for skin contact and extending from the proximal end of the casing, and a user activated actuator, the device configured such that one or more high-voltage low-current electrical impulses, generated by the impulse generator, is/are transmitted to the electrode(s) upon user activation of the actuator, the device further comprising one or more electrical contact receptacles.
