Abstract: A method of oxidizing organic and inorganic contaminants in soil, sludge, groundwater, and wastewater having the steps of providing an aqueous solution of persulfate anions, catalyzing them with chelated transition metals, thereby producing free radicals for oxidizing the contaminated material.
