Abstract: The invention relates to the field of hygienic care of the human skin and for performing certain dermatological procedures as removing blackheads and opening pimples with an ultrasonic applicator. The applicator or tool, which is used in conjunction with a selected fluid, has a contoured configuration or surface that is placed in energy transmission relationship to the skin and ultrasonically vibrated for performing the particular procedure desired.
Abstract: The treating of hair on the human head is obtained by providing a cylindrical shaped support member capable of transmitting ultrasonic vibrations in a radial mode and placing hair around the support member to receive vibrations transmitted thereto. A cover is disposed substantially around the support member as an ultrasonic transducer adapted to produce radially directed vibrations is positioned within the support member. A treatment fluid is simultaneously supplied to the hairs supported on the support member, and by energizing the transducer ultrasonic vibrations are radially transmitted through the support member for treatment of the hair with the cover substantially retaining the fluid around the support member.
Abstract: Ultrasonic systems for use in consumer, and other applications, having electromechanical motor systems providing bursts of ultrasonic mechanical vibration at an applicator repeated at a sonic frequency to produce both ultrasonic and sonic vibratory motion and effect during use of said applicator.
