The receiving unit receives an operation to designate a first area. When the receiving unit has received the operation to designate the first area, the first display control unit displays first input candidates. When an operation to designate a second area has been received, the second display control unit displays second input candidates corresponding to a first input candidate determined to be selected among the first input candidates.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for displaying geographical locations with the one or more annotations. In a particular embodiment, a language model is used to obtain the probability distribution of the locations over one or more annotations. Further, the system and the method utilizes the probability data obtained from the language model to determine a probability score for each location over the one or more annotations. Subsequently, one or more geographical locations are displayed on a world map, based on the probability score of the geographical locations over the one or more annotations. In one embodiment, geographical locations may be highlighted using a color code on a heat map overlaid on the world map. The color code may represent the ranking of the geographical locations based on the calculated probability score for each identified geographical location.

Abstract: The technologies described herein serve contextually relevant advertisements under a guaranteed advertisement campaign. A publisher retrieves a guaranteed advertisement campaign related to a webpage available for serving an advertisement, and identifies a set of advertisements relating to the guaranteed advertisement campaign. Advertisement selecting circuitry of the publisher determines whether an advertisement that is contextually relevant to content published at the webpage is present in the set of advertisements. If there is no contextually relevant advertisement in the set of advertisements, the advertisement selecting circuitry selects an alternative advertisement from the set of advertisements that minimizes an under-delivery risk related to the guaranteed advertisement campaign. If there is a contextually relevant advertisement in the set of advertisements, the advertisement selecting circuitry selects the contextually relevant advertisement.

Abstract: A transferring device according to the present invention includes a receiving unit, a generating unit, and a transferring unit. Abstract: An approach is provided for acquiring images with camera-enabled mobile devices using objects of interest recognition. A mobile device is configured to acquire an image represented by image data and process the image data to identify a plurality of candidate objects of interest in the image. The plurality of candidate objects of interest may be identified based upon a plurality of low level features or “cues” in the image data. Example cues include, without limitation, color contrast, edge density and superpixel straddling. A particular candidate object of interest is selected from the plurality of candidate objects of interest and a graphical symbol is displayed on a screen of the mobile device to identify the particular candidate object of interest. The particular candidate object of interest may be located anywhere on the image. Passive auto focusing is performed at the location of the particular candidate object of interest.
Abstract: The present invention provides techniques for utilizing opportunities presented by events and social gatherings, such as online advertisement targeting and communications related opportunities. Techniques are provided in which information is obtained that provides an indication that a set of users, including mobile electronic device users, are in a specified area, and indicating that at least some of the set of users are at a particular event or gathering.
