    Abstract: An automatic focus position adjusting unit for use in a shadowless lighting device for medical purposes includes a sensor, a start switch, a start processor, and a direction adjuster. The unit also includes a focus mover, a peak detector, and an adjustment completion unit. The shadowless lighting device for medical purposes has a housing, illuminating bulbs arranged in the housing, and a drive system for inclining the illuminating bulbs so that the optical axes of the illuminating bulbs may converge, and form a focus, on a predetermined position along a focus moving axis. The automatic focus position adjusting unit permits, with a simple operation, an accurate focus position adjustment at a desired position. This is because it is possible to move the focus to a position at which the amount of light, reflected from the predetermined region at the center of the range of light, becomes a maximum.

    Abstract: A shadowless lighting equipment for medical use includes an illuminating device for emitting a wave beam such as an infrared ray beam subjected to frequency modulation on a patient on an operating table so as to form an irradiation area thereon, an image forming device which forms an image of the irradiation area in accordance with a wave beam reflected from the irradiated portion of the patient, and a sensor for comparing information regarding an image forming position by the image forming device with information regarding a light concentration position of a lighting device. In this comparison, when the image forming position is spaced apart from the light concentration position, an output containing information regarding the positional difference between the positions is provided, and, in response to such an output, the lighting device is driven in the X axis, Y axis, and perpendicular directions of a coordinate surface so that the light concentration position becomes the same as the image forming position.

A belt is stretched across the total area of said opening to completely seal the opening; the downward support for the lamp passes through this belt; and the belt is movable together with the movement of the lamp.

    Abstract: A multi-lamp shadowless illumination system which has a plurality of sealed lamp housings and a lamp tiltably mounted in each lamp housing. The lamp housings are mounted on a lamp holding pipe means in a generally horizontal array and in positions with the axes of the lamps directed toward a light axis depending perpendicularly from the central point of the array of lamp housings, the lamps within said housings being tiltable around axes which are perpendicular to the light axis.Operating rods are movable linearly within the pipe means and have one end operatively coupled with the respective lamps for tilting the lamps. Gear means is coupled to the operating rods for driving the rods for simultaneously tilting the lamps to move the focal point of the beams of light from the lamps along the light axis.
