Abstract: A portable powered cutter comprises an operation tube (10), a transmission shaft (40) inserted through the operation tube (10), and a rotary blade (31) supported by a blade holder (30) connected to a forward end of the operation tube (10). The rotary blade (31) is rotated by rotational output of a power source transmitted by the transmission shaft (40). The blade holder (30) pivots, against a predetermined resistance, about a transverse axis (14) perpendicular to an axis of the operation tube (10) as viewed in plane. The transmission shaft (40) is flexible at least at a portion between the forward end of the operation tube (10) and the blade holder (30), and the flexible portion of the transmission shaft (40) is inserted through a bellows (100).

Abstract: An engine breaker includes a vertically extending cylindrical main body (1), a work member (2) supported by a lower portion of the main body for up and down movement, an engine (5) mounted to an upper portion of the main body and having an output shaft arranged to extend horizontally, and a striker (30) incorporated in the main body (1) for successively striking an upper end of the work member (2) through rotation of a horizontally extending rotary shaft (6) to which rotation output of the engine (1) is transmitted. The engine (5) includes a housing (5a) supported by the main body (1) via a resilient member (8), and a flexible coupling (9, 9A, 9B) for absorbing vibration in a direction crossing the rotary shaft (6) is interposed between the output shaft (52) and the rotary shaft (6).

Abstract: A rotary impacting apparatus is provided which comprises a housing, a rotor rotatably accommodated in the housing, a driving source for rotating the rotor about a rotation axis, a main reciprocative implement reciprocatively held by the housing, and an impact member eccentrically held by the rotor. The impact member exerts an impacting force for pressing the main reciprocative implement when the main reciprocative implement is advanced relative to the rotation axis. The main reciprocative implement is provided with a diametrically smaller portion and a diametrically greater portion connected to the diametrically smaller portion.

Abstract: A rotary impacting apparatus is provided that includes a housing, a rotor rotatable about an axis, a main reciprocative implement and an impact member. The impact member is arranged to exert an impacting force on the main reciprocative implement when the main receprocative implement is advanced relative to the axis. Abstract: A portable power tool comprising a support tube connected to an engine by means of an intervening clutch casing, a slider tube slidably fitted to the support tube and spring-biased forward relative to the support tube, a connecting rod connected to a front end of the slider tube and pivotally supporting a cutter holder, a rotary cutter rotatably supported by the holder, a flexible shaft for transmitting a drive force of the engine to the cutter for rotation, a lever mounted on a rear portion of the slider tube, and a wire extending rearward from the lever for connection to the clutch casing, whereby when the lever is pivoted to slide the slider tube relative to the support tube, the holder is pivotally moved to change the orientation of the cutter.

Abstract: A portable power operated tool for cutting brush, mowing grass and the like which comprises a cutting implement mounted at one end of an elongated tubular housing and driven by a lightweight engine connected to the other end of the tubular housing, a fixing element for receiving and fixing a front part of an operator's right arm, the fixing element being located in position near the engine and along with one side of the elongated tubular housing, a first handle located in front of the fixing element, and a second handle located in front of the first handle and connected to the tubular housing.
