Publication number: 20080271717Abstract: A power generating apparatus has a simplified structure for introducing fuel vapor from a fuel tank and blow-by gas produced in an engine into the engine's intake system so as to facilitate the manufacturing of the power generating apparatus. The power generating apparatus includes an engine for driving a generator, a canister containing an adsorbent for adsorbing thereonto fuel that evaporates from a fuel tank, an evaporative fuel inlet pipe for introducing fuel vapor purged from the adsorbent into an engine intake system, and a blow-by gas inlet pipe for introducing blow-by gas produced in the engine into the intake system. A first end of the evaporative fuel inlet pipe is connected to the canister, and a second end of the evaporative fuel inlet pipe is connected to an intermediate portion of the blow-by gas inlet pipe.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2008Publication date: November 6, 2008Applicant: Yamaha Motor Power Products Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masanobu Yamamoto, Takahide Sugiyama

Publication number: 20080264501Abstract: A fuel tank has a tank body and a fuel inlet projecting upwardly from the tank body. The fuel tank includes a cylindrical member extending into the tank body, a canister, and a discharging passage in communication with the canister housing an adsorbent for absorbing fuel vapor from the fuel tank. A space between an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical member and an inner circumferential surface of the fuel inlet is hermetically sealed by a seal. The cylindrical member has a passage for communicating an inside of the cylindrical member with a portion of an outside of the cylindrical member that is lower than the hermetically sealed space. The passage allows air in the tank body to enter the fuel inlet when fuel overflows from the fuel inlet, thereby inhibiting flow of fuel into the canister through the discharging passage.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2008Publication date: October 30, 2008Applicant: Yamaha Motor Power Products Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Akihiro Miyazaki, Tkahide Sugiyama, Shinichi Kajiya

Publication number: 20080264391Abstract: A power generating apparatus includes an engine for driving a generator, a muffler cover for covering a muffler for exhaust supplied from the engine from an external side of the muffler, a fuel tank for storing fuel to be supplied to the engine, and a canister containing an adsorbent for adsorbing thereonto fuel that evaporates from the fuel tank. The canister includes a communicating tube, which places the canister in communication with the atmosphere. The canister is also in communication with an intake system of the engine. The communicating tube of the canister has its opening at a position near to the muffler as well as to an inner surface, on the side of the muffler, of the muffler cover, to improve the purge characteristics of the adsorbent so that the usable live of the adsorbent is increased.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2008Publication date: October 30, 2008Applicant: Yamaha Motor Power Products Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masanobu Yamamoto, Takahide Sugiyama

Publication number: 20080245339Abstract: An auto choke device for an engine includes a choke valve for varying the opening of an intake passage of the engine, and a starter motor for starting the engine. Upon activation of the starter motor, the choke valve starts valve opening motion from a fully closed position. The choke valve continues the valve opening motion at a certain valve opening speed until it achieves a start opening set based on the temperature of the engine.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2007Publication date: October 9, 2008Applicants: Kyoto Deniki Co., LTD, Yamaha Motor Power Products Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshimichi Kumagai, Masanobu Yamamoto, Shinichi Kajiya

Publication number: 20080245331Abstract: An engine includes a choke valve for varying the opening of an intake passage. When a variation in an engine operating state per unit time during the operation of the engine becomes a predetermined value or greater, the choke valve is automatically moved to the fully open position to thereby bring the engine back to the normal operating state immediately.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2007Publication date: October 9, 2008Applicants: Kyoto Denkiki Co., LTD, Yamaha Motor Power Products Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshimichi Kumagai, Masanobu Yamamoto, Shinichi Kajiya

Patent number: 7432606Abstract: Mounts can be provided at the four corners of a bottom portion of an engine generator. Projections for mounting handles can be provided at a top portion of the engine generator in vertical alignment above the mounts. The bottom face of each mount can be formed with a fitting groove having an open end. Fitting the projections in the fitting grooves allows stacking plural engine generators. The mount can be constituted with a bottom portion, a side portion, and a reinforcing metal fitting. The projections can be disposed on a front frame and a rear frame, respectively, each formed in one body. The mounts can also be attached to the front frame and the rear frame.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2005Date of Patent: October 7, 2008Assignee: Yamaha Motor Power Products Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masanobu Yamamoto, Takahide Sugiyama

Publication number: 20080238221Abstract: A soundproof type engine generator has a first external air inlet and a second external air inlet formed on a soundproof case K. A first cooling passage guides external air drawn in through the first external air inlet through a duct to a first fan, then from the first fan to a generator and discharges the air out of the soundproof case K. A second cooling passage guides external air drawn in through the second external air inlet to an engine using a second fan and then discharges the air out of the soundproof case The first fan is made up of a disk-like planar part, a plurality of first blades and a plurality of second blades, respectively provided radially on both head and tail sides of the planar part. External air drawn with the plurality of first blades through the first external air inlet is guided through the duct to the generator, and discharged out of the soundproof case. Air in the soundproof case is discharged with the plurality of second blades out of the soundproof case.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2007Publication date: October 2, 2008Applicant: Yamaha Motor Power Products Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masanobu Yamamoto, Hidenori Takahashi
