    Abstract: A method of cleaning an inner surface of a heat transfer tube for removing deposited scale, such as fur and rust therefrom is disclosed, in which a cleaning brush element with a string is flowed at its inverted state through the tube together with a cooling water, and thereafter the string is pulled for withdrawing the brush element against the flowing movement of the cooling water while contacting a brush of the brush element with the inner surface of the heat transfer tube.
