Abstract: An insulating container can be configured to retain a volume of liquid, and include a first inner wall having a first end having an opening extending into an internal reservoir, and a second outer wall forming an outer shell. The opening can be sealed by a closure, the closure having an upper portion with a handle that has a circular curvature equal to the cylindrical portion of the closure. The closure may also have a lower portion that is joined to the upper portion by an injection molded polymer element.

Abstract: A leak resistant lid assembly for a beverage container where the lid assembly has a straw or similar means for a user to drink liquid is disclosed. The lid assembly may include a base, a straw that extends through the base, a gasket, and a grommet. The base may have a primary opening that receives the straw and a secondary opening in the top of the base, where the secondary opening acts as a vent to prevent a vacuum from occurring when drinking from a straw. The grommet may have a spiral ring may help create a flow path for air from inside the beverage container to the exterior environment.

The lid may further include a guide channel configured to receive the slider, and the channel may limit the lateral movement of the slider. The guide channel may further include a pair of air vents. The slider may be configured to slide along the lid, from a closed position where the slider covers the opening and to an opened position in which the slider uncovers the opening such that the contents of the container may be released. The slider may be configured to lock into place in both the closed position and the opened position.

Abstract: An insulating device can include a body assembly and a lid assembly where an insulating layer is connected to both the body assembly and the lid assembly. An aperture with a closure is formed between the body assembly and lid assembly to form a storage compartment. An insulating tab may be formed from a portion of the insulating layer and an inner liner of the body assembly to help insulate the closure region. In addition, a first magnetic element may be secured within the insulating tab that may engage a second magnetic element secured within the lid assembly.

Abstract: Systems and methods for coating one or more surfaces of a drinking container with diamond-like carbon. The systems and methods may position a metallic structure of a container into electrically-conducting contact with a first electrode, and use a probe that combines an electrode and gas channel to introduce a precursor gas into an internal compartment of a container for enhanced surface coating of the metallic structure.
