Patent number: 5887664Abstract: An adjustable depth control mechanism for use with earth penetrating equipment. The invention includes a hub and spindle assembly for use with an adjustable depth gauge wheel, which is mounted on a support axle. It may also include a position indicator that an operator can readily view to determine the relative position of the depth gauge wheel and, accordingly, the depth setting of the ground penetrating disc. The indicator rotates to certain positions that correspond to the depth to which the disc is allowed to penetrate into the ground. Preferably, both the position indicator and the adjustment mechanism of the assembly are located internal to the depth gauge wheel and are covered and protected by the rim of the wheel from contamination by soil and crop residue.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1997Date of Patent: March 30, 1999Assignee: Yetter Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Patrick Thomas Whalen, Ronald Eugene Chenoweth

Patent number: 5596980Abstract: A portable fireplace for burning combustible materials including a base member defining a fire chamber adapted to receive and contain the materials to be burned. One or more screen members are adapted to extend upwardly from the base member and to protect against burning embers being expelled from the fireplace. A cover member is supported above the screen members and is removable to provide access to the fire chamber when desired. A support structure is associated with the base member to support the base member at a sufficient height above a support surface to prevent the burning or scorching of the support surface. One or more of the screen members is selectively removable to provide access to the fire for enhanced viewing or cooking.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1995Date of Patent: January 28, 1997Assignee: Yetter Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Bernard F. Whalen, Paul Doubet

Patent number: 5190112Abstract: A rotary hoe extension and kit for extending the effective length of one set of arms of a rotary hoe to increase the separation of the axes of rotation of adjacent rows of hoe wheels to a distance greater than the diameter of the hoe wheel while maintaining lateral wheel spacing. The extension includes a body member, having an upper end or first portion including a U-shaped alignment member which surrounds the existing rotary hoe arm on three sides to provide a rigid unit and a lower end or second portion having an aperture therethrough for attachment of a hoe wheel thereto. The lower end of the arm and lower end of the extension are in alignment with each other thereby allowing for maintenance of the lateral wheel spacing. A connector arrangement is provided to secure the extension to the support arm.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1991Date of Patent: March 2, 1993Assignee: Yetter Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Mark Johnston, Patrick T. Whalen

Patent number: 4947770Abstract: A parallel linkage arrangement for supporting a coulter disc and liquid fertilizer applicator on an agricultural tool bar such that the coulter disc and the fertilizer applicator maintain the same relative relationship to the ground regardless of vertical travel of the coulter disc or the applicator.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1989Date of Patent: August 14, 1990Assignee: Yetter Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Mark Johnston

Patent number: 4858698Abstract: A weight transfer linkage arrangement for connection between the three-point hitch of a tractor, a tool bar carrying agricultural implements and a hitch. The linkage arrangement includes a first parallel linkage connecting the tool bar and the hitch and a second parallel linkage connecting the three-point hitch of the tractor and the tool bar. The first and second linkages are both adaptable to be moved between corresponding cooperative lowered and raised positions, such that the tool bar may be raised and lowered without raising and lowering the hitch. Force applying means are connected to the first linkage to apply downpressure on the tool bar when the linkage arrangement is in a lowered position.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1988Date of Patent: August 22, 1989Assignee: Yetter Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Gerald E. Williamson, Donald R. Hartwig

Patent number: 4759411Abstract: A mounting arrangement for fertilizer coulters including a selective locking mechanism whereby, at the option of the operator, the coulter may be permitted to pivot about the coulter supporting shank or be locked in place.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1986Date of Patent: July 26, 1988Assignee: Yetter Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Gerald E. Williamson

Patent number: 4656957Abstract: A liquid fertilizer applicator is provided, designed to be pulled by a motive power source, for use in a variety of soil and tillage conditions. It includes a disc-shaped coulter and an associated applicator knife mounted in trailing relation to the coulter, with a feed tube fixed to the rear of the knife. The leading edge of the arcuate knife conforms to and lies in close proximity to the outer periphery of the coulter disc. An alternative arrangement includes a knife with an angled lower facing edge and a heel extension to protect the feed tube opening.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1985Date of Patent: April 14, 1987Assignee: Yetter Manufacturing CompanyInventors: Gerald E. Williamson, Carroll D. Noland

Patent number: 4574891Abstract: A clamp arrangement is provided for mounting an agricultural tool to a tool bar or cross bar. The clamp includes an upper clamp plate and a lower plate which are bolted to the bar and slotted to receive a vertical support bar. The vertical support bar is positioned vertically by means of a slotted clamp member which may be disposed above the upper clamp plate or below the lower clamp plate, the clamp member is fixed to the vertical bar by a set screw. Clearances are provided to absorb horizontal loads imposed on the agricultural implement.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1984Date of Patent: March 11, 1986Assignee: Yetter Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Gerald E.
