  • Patent number: 4325671
Abstract: This invention relates to engine speed governor and is fully hydraulically actuated in proportion to sudden load changes of a steam turbo-generator engine. The invention comprises a transmitter and a receiver inter-connected by tubings. Oil pressure from the engine lubricating system through a pressure reducing valve is used as an operating power for the transmitter and the receiver for operating engine main control valve. The transmitter comprises a control valve having two axially spaced apart pistons and internal oil passages, a fixed spring and an adjustable concentrical spring acting on the top piston of the control valve, a variable spring acting on the bottom piston of the control valve and is seated on a stem which is connected to engine speed measuring device such as fly-weight by a push rod and a center rod.

  • Patent number: 4281825
Abstract: The invention relates to a manual hydraulic operating vise, said vise comprising a stationary jaw with a cylindrical center assembly formed in the body of the stationary jaw. A movable jaw being firmly connected to a main piston in the center assembly by a movable rod. A handwheel used to operate a control valve to seat or unseat on a boost piston in an inner liner inside of the center assembly. Several internal oil passages are provided therein for free oil flow around the main piston when the control valve is unseated, so that the movable jaw can be positioned manually with least resistance, thus greatly reduce the time for positioning. When the control valve is seated further turning handwheel will operate the movable jaw backward hydraulically to clamp the workpiece with a greater force which is the multiplication of force input on the handwheel because hydraulic and mechanical advantage of the structure.

  • Patent number: 4178867
Abstract: A rescue signal device of this invention can be used on a life boat and on other objects for rescue, here more concerned about the use on a life boat. The device consists of a signal balloon which can float in the air high above the boat or object when the balloon is inflated with hydrogen in an emergency. The balloon used on a life boat is made of foldable, semi-transparent, red color and air proof material in cone shape having one end flat like a cut football. A circular board serving as a sail is attached to the flat end of the balloon. The balloon is linked to the life boat by several cables tied to the periphery of the circular board. Wind force acting on the face of the circular board gives power to sail the boat for saving the refugee's physical strength. The circular board can change the angle of attack of the wind by operating the cables to co-operate with rudder for proper heading of the boat.

  • Patent number: 4146482
Abstract: This invention relates to apparatus for collecting oil floating on a sea surface. This is by a collecting panel and tube with the force of waves pusing oil mixed with water and dirt under some conditions, causing the oil to flow into said panel and tube automatically. The tube leads the oil to a container under sea level wherein the said oil and water can be separated and filtered, and then pure oil is pumped to a nearby ship for storage. Thus, not only pollution will be avoided but also the lost oil can be collected and reused.
