  • Patent number: 5090744
Abstract: A flexible pipe joint system has three swivel joints on the both sides and in the central portion thereof, and two arm pipes connecting the swivel joints. The swivel joints have a stepped cylinder body, an elbow and a cap nut. The stepped cylinder body has a larger diameter portion and a smaller diameter portion. The elbow has a pipe connection portion to which a nipple provided with a flange on its outer end and a nut member on its outer periphery. A short cylindrical adapter is provided at one end of the arm pipe connected to the pipe connection portion of the elbow and to one end of the arm pipe connected to the smaller diameter portion of the cylinder body. The adapter and the nut member, respectively, have an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the gasket and an inner diameter of an end portion of the cap nut.

  • Patent number: 5022687
Abstract: A female coupling member of a pipe coupling is provided with a cap-like retainer removably mounted thereon and having an inner tapered surface. A male coupling member includes a cylindrical portion inserted into an axial bore in the female coupling member and a split elastic cotter ring retained on the cylindrical portion. When the male coupling member is pulled back, the cotter ring is brought into engagement with the tapered surface of the cap-like retainer to couple the coupling members to each other.

  • Patent number: 4953592
Abstract: In a self-sealing coupling with a bypass for a hydraulic circuit designed to connect a hydraulic sub-circuit to a midway portion of a main circuit of a hydraulic device, there is provided a coupling body with an input passage, an output passage, an input passage side and an output passage side self-closing valves and a bypass valve. The bypass valve is provided with a cylindrical valve element which is reciprocatively slidable within either one of said input passage and said output passage so as to open and close that one passage relative to a bypass provided therebetween. The cylindrical valve element is adapted to be moved together with the self-closing valve element provided in the one passage, to be shifted to a bypass valve opening position where the bypass is opened by the cylindrical valve element valve closed condition.

  • Patent number: 4850622
Abstract: A pipe joint for connecting two pipes to each other has a joint member to which one of the pipes is fixed and provided with a bore formed therein, a socket member fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the joint member and provided at its one end with a flange having an opening and also with an annular space defined by the flange, a retainer ring composed of a plurality of segments each having a tapered surface confronting the opening, the segments being arranged in the circumferential direction and held by an elastic band fitting on the outer peripheral surfaces thereof such that the retainer ring composed of the segments can expand and contract radially, and a male member constituted by the other of the pipes and having a bead portion protruding radially outwardly from the outer peripheral surface of the male member at a position near the end of the male member.

  • Patent number: 4825908
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a four-way valve for switching the cooling and heating modes of an air conditioner. The four-way valve includes: a first valve body of a cup shape having its closed wall formed with an outlet port and two circuit ports. A second valve body is provided having its root fitted fixedly on the first valve body and an inlet port formed at the side opposite to the body root. A cylindrical valve member is fitted rotatably in the first valve body having its one half formed in its end portion with an arcuate groove for providing alternate communication between the outlet port and the circuit ports and its other half formed with two communication ports. A member is provided for restricting the rotations of the cylindrical valve member. A magnetic member is provided for magnetically rotating the valve member when energized. A collar is disposed on the valve member and made irrotational but movable in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4625761
Abstract: A corrosion-resistant, quick disconnecting coupling assembly for piping use consisting of a female coupling and a male coupling for causing or stopping the conduction of a fluid by connection or disconnection between both is provided. The female coupling and the male coupling comprise each an exterior coupling body, a cylindrical valve member mounted in the body so as to form an annular closed chamber enclosed by the former two, which member has therethrough communicating transverse and longitudinal holes as a flow path of the fluid and a spring housed in the chamber so as to be compressible or extensible. The valve member is wholly or partially slidable. The one valve member may consist of a fixed valve and a slidable valve sleeve and the other valve member may be a slidable poppet valve. Each of the valve members may be a poppet valve which is slidable.
