    Abstract: The present invention provides a polybenzimidazole coating composition that can be easily applied to a base material and is capable of forming a coating film having a large thickness. In this composition, particulate polybenzimidazole is dispersed in a mixed solvent. The mixed solvent contains water and a polar solvent in which the polybenzimidazole dissolves at a high solubility.
