  • Patent number: 8338738
Abstract: An apparatus for welding a projection bolt includes a control unit which outputs an actuating signal for an advancing pressurizing means in response to at least a signal indicating completion of insertion of the projection bolt into a receiving hole and a signal indicating completion of movement of a steel plate part. Electrodes are provided for welding the projection bolt, and advancement of the electrodes from a retracted state is started in response to the actuating signal.

  • Patent number: 8336716
Abstract: A parts feeding apparatus feeds projection bolts into a receiving hole in an electrode and includes an excessively long parts detecting device which detects projection bolts having excessively long shanks. The excessively long parts detecting device has a pass control member fixed between a pair of plates of the delivery section for engaging an excessively long shank and a control plate which prevents the projection bolt having the excessively long shank from projecting upward so as to lock the projection bolt in cooperation with the pass control member. A feed rod advances to a predetermined position at which the shanks of the projection bolts are inserted into the receiving hole, and a spacing between the holding head and a receiving hole when the feed rod is in the predetermined position is set to prevent projection bolts having an excessively short shank from reaching the receiving hole.

  • Publication number: 20060070981
Abstract: A method of welding a shaft-like part to a stack of steel sheets is disclosed in which the saft-like part is composed of a stem portion (2), a flange (3) integrally formed on the stem portion (2), and a projection (4) disposed at the center of the flange (3) and smaller in diameter than the flange (3). The method comprises the steps of inserting the shaft-like part (1) at its stem portion (2) into a holding hole (8) in a movable electrode (6), stacking a plurality of steel sheets (10 and 11) so as to keep the stack in contact with a fixed electrode (12), advancing the movable electrode (6) to press the projection (4) against the steel sheet (10) so as to reduce the thickness of at least the steel sheet (10) pressed by the projection (4), and passing a welding current between the two electrodes (6 and 12) so that the welding of the shaft-like part (1) and the integration of a plurality of steel sheets (10 and 11) are reliably achieved.

  • Patent number: 6768082
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for welding a flange (3) of a part (1) having a shaft (2) and the flange (3) to a steel plate (44). The device comprises a supporting shaft (26), on the end of which a hole (37) for receiving the shaft (2) of the part (1) is formed, a supporting member (27) fitted on the axis of the supporting shaft (26) in a rotary manner, a supporting pipe (33) fitted into the supporting member (27) and having a electrode wire (36) inside, and driving mechanisms (40, 41, 42). In this device, the electrode wire (36) is directed so as to face the flange (3) of the part (1), whose shaft (2) has been received in the receiving hole (37). To achieve this arrangement, the head (34) of the tip of the supporting pipe (33) is positioned near the opening of the receiving hole (37) on the end of the supporting shaft (26), wherein the tip of the electrode wire (36) moves around the flange (3) as the supporting member (27) rotates.

  • Patent number: 6653590
Abstract: A projection bolt feed unit (14) is mounted on a welding frame (5) which is made to move by a robot system (1), and on either one of two electrodes (6, 7) installed on the welding frame (5) is formed a receiving hole (9) in which to insert a shaft (11). The projection bolt (10) held in said unit (14) stops at the position where its shaft (11) is coxial with the receiving hole (9), and then the shaft (11) is inserted into the receiving hole (9). After that, the welding frame (5) reaches the work (33) on standby, to weld the projection bolt (10) to the work (33).

  • Patent number: 6163004
Abstract: When a projection nut is brought into an intended position, in order that welding may be completed with the nut kept at accurate posture and the nut fed in correct position, a recess (21) is formed at the leading end of a feed rod (20), the feed rod (20) is moved back in a direction almost orthogonal to the axial line of an electrode, and when the feed rod (20) is stopped, a guide pin (13) of an electrode (11) gets into a screw hole (26) of a projection nut (25), and then the feed rod (20) is restored to determine the position of the nut (25), then the other electrode (19) advances to complete the welding.
