Publication number: 20040204166Abstract: A hands-free cradle for receiving a mobile phone to enable hands-free operation of the mobile phone. The mobile phone has a data port for passing data signals and an antenna port for receiving antenna signals from an external antenna. The cradle includes a base assembly having a longitudinal axis. An elevator assembly is joined with the base assembly. The elevator assembly is shaped to receive the mobile phone. The elevator assembly is moveable along the longitudinal axis, when the mobile phone is received, to define an upper position and a lower position. A data connector protrudes from an opening, when the elevator assembly is moved to the lower position, to interface with the data port of the mobile phone. An antenna connector is situated to interface with the antenna port of the mobile phone when the mobile phone is received in the elevator assembly. The antenna connector moves with the elevator assembly along the longitudinal axis between the upper and lower positions.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2002Publication date: October 14, 2004Applicant: Youngbo Engineering, Inc.Inventor: Hyon S. Patent number: 6795718Abstract: A headset is described for use in connection with either mobile telephones, conventional landline telephones or personal computers. When used with wireless applications, the headset is housed in a generally elongated casing having an ear bud, having a speaker therein, and a battery pack extending therefrom which are used in conjunction with one another to secure the headset against a user's ear. The battery pack includes a lip that is designed to cradle the helix of a user's ear against the casing and is positioned distal of the ear bud such that the battery pack is located behind a user's ear when the headset is in its operating position. The battery pack and the ear bud are further positioned on the casing to equally distribute the weight of the headset about the ear bud and prevent unnecessary movement of the headset about ear during operation.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2002Date of Patent: September 21, 2004Assignee: Youngbo Engineering, Inc.Inventor: Hyon S. Patent number: 6640114Abstract: A method and apparatus for adding at least one and preferably two new data entry functions to otherwise conventional flip-type cell phones. One such data entry function is handwritten alpha-numeric entry using the fingertip as the entry device. The other such data entry function is use of the fingertip for point and click. Thus, the apparatus does not require a special tool for data entry. A button or switch added on the side of the phone, permits switching between the two data entry functions. By depressing a button on the side, the user can use the touch pad as a point and click device. This will allow service providers to offer user friendly web pages that look and feel like surfing the web at home or office. The invention also offers the ability to operate both the numeric phone keypad and the touch pad simultaneously.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2002Date of Patent: October 28, 2003Assignee: Youngbo Engineering, Inc.Inventor: Hyon S.
