Abstract: A process for producing a tapered multifilament yarn comprising feeding a drawable filament to a drawing apparatus and changing the take-over speed relative to the feed speed of the filament in order to change the thickness of the filament in a longitudinal direction, characterized by making the take-over speed slower than the feed speed under heating in a part of the filament in the longitudinal direction and thereby shrinking and thickening the part of the filament. According to the process, the ratio of the thickness of the thickest part of the tapered multifilament yarn to the thickness of the thinnest part thereof can be easily increased.
Abstract: A yarn object which, even though made of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene, can be satisfactorily prevented from color fading caused by contact with other objects or the like, can be produced easily at low cast, and can maintain high strength. The yarn object is colored with a colorant. The yarn object includes a core yarn 2 colored with a predetermined colorant and an outer-layer yarn 3 disposed on the periphery of the core yarn. The outer-layer yarn 3 is disposed in such a manner that the core yarn 2 is prevented from contacting with other objects. The outer-layer yarn 3 includes a transparent filament and a space 4 is formed between the outer-layer yarns 3. The color applied to the core yarn 2 is externally visible through the transparent outer-layer yarn 3 and the space therebetween 4.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing autohesion thread such that a smooth surface is offered, the cutting thereof is easy, filaments composing thread are not frayed in cutting, drainability is superior, and plural kinds of filaments can be combined. A method of manufacturing a line of fusion thread, wherein plural filaments comprising thermoplastic resin are paralleled, twisted and/or braided if desired, subsequently drawn under heat at a draw ratio of less than 1.0 to thereby substantially fuse the adjacent filaments, and thereafter drawn under heat at a draw ratio of more than 1.0.

Abstract: This invention is to provide yarns including fishing lines which contain ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene filaments with low elongation rate, adjustable specific gravity and excellent abrasion resistance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.
Abstract: A braided cord consisting of braided filaments or a twisted cord of filaments in which at least a part of the filaments are high tenacity multifilaments, and the rest of the filaments are monofilaments, which is preferably used as a serving for an archery bowstring.
