Abstract: An uninterruptible power supply which is down-sized and lightened is provided. A utility line 1 is connected with a switch 8 and the switch 8 is connected with a rectifying circuit 2 and DC power from the rectifying circuit 2 inputs to a first inverter 3-1 and charges a battery 6 by a charger 7 connected with a node between the utility line 1 and the switch 8 and the DC power from the battery 6 is converted to AC power by a second inverter 3-2 to input to the rectifying circuit 2. When the utility line 1 is interrupted, AC power from the second inverter 3-2 is supplied to the rectifying circuit 2 to continuously supply power to a load 4. As a result, the number of cells in a battery may be reduced, the cost and man-day of the unit may be reduced, the reliability of the unit may be improved and the supply may be down-sized and lightened.

  • Patent number: 5376107
Abstract: An electrotherapeutic device for passing a DC electric current through a living organism by applying a voltage to the living organism includes a battery with an internal resistance which is high enough so that changes in the resistance value of the living organism can be disregarded. Excessive flow of current is avoided even when the resistance of the living organism fluctuates. The device is safe, easy to handle, and inexpensive. It is particularly suited for use with iontophoresis; a technology by which drugs are administered using electricity.

  • Patent number: 5273841
Abstract: A sulfuric acid concentration sensor including a sensor body comprising a high molecular compound having a property to react with sulfuric acid and a property to change an electric conductivity in such a way as one-valued function with a change in sulfuric acid concentration, in which an electric current is flown through the sensor body impregnated in sulfuric acid solution to obtain the electric conductivity of sensor body so as to know the sulfuric acid concentration. Since the electric conductivity of high molecular compound changes corresponding to the sulfuric acid concentration, the sulfuric acid concentration can be known when the electric conductivity of the sensor body i.e. the high molecular compound is obtained, so that the concentration of sulfuric acid can be measured easily.

  • Patent number: 5240791
Abstract: A primary invention is a solid polymer electrolyte including an ionic salt and a compound able to dissolve the ionic salt and having a crosslink network structure. A crosslink network structure is formed by polymerizing a two-functional acryloyl compound having two acryloyl groups with a one-functional acryloyl compound having one acryloyl group. In this solid polymer electrolyte, the crosslink network structure has a skeleton in which the one-functional acryloyl compound spreads into branches. Since molecular movement of this branched skeleton is active, its flexibility is improved.

  • Patent number: 5081570
Abstract: An upper limit value is set up which is larger by a prescribed value than a current value of an ideal sine wave, a lower limit value is set up which is smaller by a prescribed value than the current value of the ideal sine wave. Plural semiconductor switches are actuated according to a clock pulse of specified frequency supplied from a clock pulse generator so that a boosting mode is maintained until an alternate input current increases to reach the upper limit setting value during the boosting mode and a transfer mode is maintained until the alternate input current decreases to reach the lower limit setting value during the transfer mode, thus the semiconductor switches are actuated according to the frequency of the clock pulse at the time of this transfer mode.
