  • Publication number: 20140291067
Abstract: An exhaust silencing device connected to an exhaust system of an engine is provided in which two outlet pipes that have at an upstream end thereof an opening portion opening within the silencer main body and that discharge exhaust gas within the silencer main body to an outside thereof are disposed within the silencer main body along a bottom thereof so that the distances thereof from the lowest part of the bottom are substantially equal, and the opening portion of one outlet pipe is directed further toward the bottom of the silencer main body than is the opening portion of the other outlet pipe. Such exhaust silencing device efficiently discharges to the outside the condensed water building up within the silencer main body so as not to impair an effect in reducing exhaust resistance by providing two outlet pipes that guide the exhaust gas to the outside.

  • Patent number: 8839925
Abstract: In a fluid transmitting device with a lock-up clutch, each second transmitting claw is formed of: a base portion having a long side arranged in a peripheral direction of a turbine impeller and a short side arranged axially of the turbine impeller; and a claw portion protruding from an intermediate portion of one of long-side portions of the base portion and being inserted between adjacent damper springs, and each short-side portion of the base portion is fixed to the turbine impeller through a weld. A long-side portion of the base portion not welded to the turbine impeller includes a cutout, facilitating bend of the long-side portion when transmitting torque through the second transmitting claw, at opposite sides of the claw portion. This improves engine output performance by relaxing stress concentration at spots where the second claws are welded to a turbine impeller without increasing the thicknesses of the claws.

  • Publication number: 20140123637
Abstract: Among first and second stators of a torque converter supported on a fixed part by a one-way clutch corresponding to the stators, the number of second stator blades of the second stator on the downstream side in the direction of flow of oil is larger than the number of first blades of the first stator on the upstream side, and the maximum value t2 for blade thickness of the second stator blade is smaller than the minimum value t1 for blade thickness of the first stator blade. Therefore, it is possible to ensure that there is a sufficient gap (?) between a trailing edge of the first stator blade and a leading edge of the second stator blade, thus preventing the flow of oil from being stopped by the gap (?), and it is possible to align effectively the flow of oil by means of the second stator blades.

  • Patent number: 8418753
Abstract: A heat exchange tube is constructed by forming, on a cylindrical tube peripheral wall, a plurality of projecting portions which project to an inside of the tube peripheral wall, and which are formed by pushing. The plurality of projecting portions are formed, respectively, into conical shapes across a tube axis, and are arranged along virtual spirals on the tube peripheral wall. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a heat exchange tube which facilitates formation of a plurality of projecting portions with the thickness hardly changed and without formation of protruded portions, and which is capable of contributing to enhancement of heat exchanging efficiency.

  • Patent number: 8371948
Abstract: A flywheel device includes a mass-side rotor including a mass ring and a pair of holder plates connected to both sides of the mass ring. The mass-side rotor is connected to a crankshaft with a drive plate therebetween. Between the mass-side rotor and the drive plate, a positioning apparatus for positioning those coaxially with each other is provided. The positioning apparatus includes: an annular positioning protrusion which is press formed in at least one of the pair of holder plates to project laterally outward therefrom, and which is disposed coaxially with the mass-side rotor; and a positioning recessed portion which is press formed in the drive plate coaxially with the crankshaft, and which is fitted to the positioning protrusion. Accordingly, it is possible to enable coaxial positioning of the mass-side rotor and the drive plate without performing burdensome machining on the mass ring for forming a positioning apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20130025985
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a brake disc having an outer peripheral shape of projections-recesses repetition in which a radial projection and a radial recess are alternately repeated in the circumferential direction of the brake disc, there is provided a method in which a curved face portion can be formed uniformly over the entire outer peripheral edge portion of the disc main body so as to eliminate the step of chamfering for removing burrs and which is superior in productivity. A disc main body whose outer peripheral shape is projections-recesses repetition is half-blanked from one of plate thickness directions of a sheet material. Thereafter, the disc main body is blanked from the other of the plate thickness directions of the sheet material W.

  • Patent number: 8353391
Abstract: A floating type brake disc is provided which is capable of limiting the heat escape from a rotor to a hub to the extent possible and which can be made smaller in weight. In a plurality of circumferential positions of the hub, there are formed pin-receiving portions in a manner to enclose a connecting pin from three directions of a radially inward, one of circumferentially both sides and a radially outward of the brake disc. A tongue-shaped pin-receiving portion is formed on each of a plurality of inner circumferential positions of the rotor 1 so as to be elongated radially inward to pinch the connecting pin between the tongue-shaped pin-receiving portion and the pin-receiving portion that is formed in the hub.

  • Publication number: 20120291280
Abstract: In a manufacturing method of an impeller for a fluid transmitting device, multiple guide grooves aligned in a peripheral direction to allow communication between adjacent ones of multiple positioning holes are provided in a concave inner surface of a core in advance; and in a step of melting a brazing material and causing the molten brazing material to penetrate into gaps between coupling pieces and positioning holes that are fitted to each other and further into gaps between the core and the blades, the molten brazing material is guided to the positioning holes through the multiple guide grooves. Accordingly, the step allows the molten brazing material to be efficiently guided to the gaps between the coupling pieces and positioning holes, thereby improving the yield of the brazing material and preventing an influence of a residual brazing material over the rotational balance of the impeller.
