  • Patent number: 5230610
Abstract: An axial piston pump for supplying two separate oil circuits including two pistons units (6, 8) of which one is situated upon an external circle and the other upon an internal circle. The external piston unit (6) must be regulatable so that it can feed a hydromotor of a radiator fan. The internal piston unit (8) must supply a level regulation with a constant flow of oil. Accordingly, both piston units (6 and 8) suck oil via separate suction bores (11 and 26). In the suction bore (11) of the external piston unit (6) leading to the swash-plate chamber (4) is inserted an electromagnetically actuable controlling valve (12). In order that the pistons (5) of the external piston unit (6) cannot run dry when the controlling valve (12) is regulated, there branches off from the suction bore (11), upstream of the controlling valve (12), a constant-flow bore (23) which via an annular groove (24) and radial bores (25) supplies a relatively small amount of oil to each piston (5) in the dead-center position thereof.

  • Patent number: 5228544
Abstract: In a hydrodynamic brake (1), in order to reduce the ventilation losses, adjustable baffles (2, 20) are situated between a rotor (3) and a stator (4). During idling, when oil has been evacuated from the brake (1), one or more baffles (2, 20) of angular cross section in the outer area of the toroidal chambers (31, 41) separate the chambers via a radially inward projecting annular leg (21), a leg cylindrically situated in an axial direction abutting against the inner wall (52) of a chamber (5). During operation of the brake, that is, when the hydrodynamic brake (1) is filled with oil, the radially inward projecting leg (21) is located with its front edge (29) behind the toroidal chambers (31, 41). When only one baffle (20) covering the entire periphery of the outer area of the toroidal chambers (31, 41) is installed, slits (23, 28) are disposed in the radially inward projecting annular leg (21) to obtain the adequate elasticity.

  • Patent number: 5213437
Abstract: A serrated-shaft connection between a shaft (1) and a hub (4) has a large number of teeth (2, 5) that are located on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft (1) and the inner circumferential surface of the hub (4), respectively. The profiles (6) of the teeth (5) of the hub (4) are bent convexly in cross section. In such a connection, it is essential that the profiles (3, 6) of the teeth (2, 5) of the shaft (1) and the hub (4) should be bent differently in such a way that the profiles (3) of the teeth (2) of the shaft (1) will have distances above the top of the teeth that are different from those above the top of the teeth (5) of the hub (4). As a result, the tooth profiles of the shaft and the hub can mesh with each other during assembly so that a compressive connection that fits with great precision is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5199538
Abstract: A drive device with variable torque-limiting system. When a setting mechanism (17) forming part of a crank mechanism (23) is actuated in order to displace a carrier waggon (19) to which a hydrofoil component (2) is fastened, large forces are induced. To avoid excessive stresses on the components, the torque-limiter (15) is designed so that the drive torque is automatically variable within the limits of an adjustment range (88). The drive torque to be limited can, for example, be set at low values at the beginning and at the end of an oscillation path of the setting mechanism (17). The drive torque is varied by varying the preloading force of the spring assembly (47) of the torque-limiter (15). To this end, a comparator (74) detects the number of rotations of the output shaft (38) and varies the preloading force of the spring assembly (47).

  • Patent number: 5190130
Abstract: In a process for regulating a clutch which is situated within a power train between an input shaft (22) and an output shaft (24), the rotation-rate differences .DELTA..omega. of the power train are detected via a sensor device. With the use of regulating equipment and depending on a control variable x, a correcting variable y which affects the speed difference .DELTA.n is controlled. To provide regulating equipment at favorable construction cost, the regulating equipment has a comparator unit (51) in which an actual value x of the rotation-rate difference .DELTA..omega. in the power train behind the clutch (21) is compared with a preset fixed limited value w.sub.const, the rotation-rate difference .DELTA..omega. being limited to the limit value w.sub.const by changing the correcting variable of the clutch (21) upon reaching or exceeding the limit value w.sub.const.

  • Patent number: 5172611
Abstract: An engine-rpm-dependent arrest device to prevent non-permitted down shifts in motor vehicle transmissions containing a pilot valve (1) and a control valve (2), both having two shift positions. One shift position of the control valve (2) is engaged by the pressure acting upon a piston surface (36) of the control-valve piston (31) and exceeding a given value of an engine-rpm-dependent low-pressure pump (20). The control valve (2) is exclusively in contact with the pressure medium conveyed by the low-pressure pump (20) and controls the large end surface (40) and the annular surface (41) of a pilot-valve piston (38) designed as stepped piston. If when the high gear is engaged and the engine rpm is above a certain limit value, the gear-shift valve (7) is moved to its position for low gear, then an actuation of the actuation device (15) for the low gear is prevented via the pilot valve (1).

  • Patent number: 5156531
Abstract: This invention relates to a radial piston pump in whose suction bore (22) a load regulator (24) is inserted. The pump is to be regulated so that a constant stream and, as required, a variable large regulating stream will be available. For this purpose, a spool valve (26) that can be activated electromagnetically is inserted in a bore (23) that intersects the suction bore (22) and that spool valve can establish a connection to a suction duct (28) that is connected to a cam chamber (14) to make the regulating stream available by means of a collar (33). From suction bore (22) there furthermore branches off a shutter bore (34) that is likewise connected to the cam chamber (14) via a ring groove (35) and additional bores (36) in the pump housing (3). Shutter bore (34) limits the constant stream. The regulating stream is supplied to a consumer with fluctuating power consumption, for example, a hydrofan, that is powered with an rpm proportional to the cooling water temperature.
