Abstract: Systems and methods for facilitating an on-line purchase of at least one item on behalf of a consumer are disclosed. A consumer may shop and purchase at least one item on a consolidated shopping (CS) website displaying one or more items available for purchase on one or more different merchant websites. The CS website provides consumers with advanced searching that takes into consideration a personal profile of the consumer, the consumer's previous shopping history, transactional data relating to a group of similar consumers, and the like. A host computer providing the CS website may access a merchant website selling the requested item, and order the requested item on behalf of the consumer, and charging a transaction fee, listing fee, receiving a rebate and/or offering a rebate for performing such. One embodiment allows a consumer to purchase/order multiple items from multiple websites in a single purchase request to the CS website.

The order injection system places orders for products contained within the universal shopping cart from affiliated and non-affiliated merchants. Specific ordering details required from merchants external to the shopping site are hidden from the consumer. For external merchant sites that require a consumer account before allowing the product to be purchased, the shopping site creates a new consumer account without intervention from the consumer. Once the products are ordered, the consumer may keep track of the ordered products from the shopping site.

Abstract: Methods are disclosed for gathering information from different sources to be used to automatically fill in online forms. The information is collected using a persona of an individual. A persona is created by filtering a larger set of raw data for that user so that only certain fields are allowed to be seen and used by others. An individual can have several personas, each assigned to a particular other individual, such as a family member or a friend. The individual allowing one of his personas to be shared is the information provider and the user requesting the information is the information requester. The information is taken from both the provider and requester, and used by a vendor in a form, filled out by the information requester. In one embodiment, the information requester is a “gift giver” and the provider is a “gift receiver.” The gift giver is requesting shipping and other information from the gift receiver, who can grant one of his personas to the particular gift giver.
