Abstract: A surgical implant includes an inflatable element that is inflatable in response to fluid pressure; a tank for fluid under pressure in communication with the inflatable element to regulate the pressure of the element; a manually controlled pump in communication firstly with the inflatable element via a one-way check valve, and secondly with the tank via a one-way check valve; and a control unit incorporating the tank and the manual pump. The control unit presents a through opening for the fluid, the opening being in communication firstly on the inside of the control unit with the tank and the manual pump, and secondly on the outside of the control unit solely with the inflatable elements via a catheter mounted between the inflatable element and the control unit. According to the invention, the tank is formed by a leaktight chamber of fluid under pressure defined by a movable piston elastically biased by a spring.

  • Publication number: 20090079195
Abstract: When a wind velocity sensor detects a wind velocity higher than a predetermined level, a timer device starts a waiting timer function during an operation timer period shorter than the waiting timer period. After the waiting timer period is over, the waiting timer function is switched to an operation timer function, and a switching relay switches a generator to a motor only during an operation timer period. Then, a driving circuit performs a start assisting rotation. After the operation timer period is over, the waiting timer period re-starts. This process is repeated. When during this period, the number of rotations of a rotor monitored by a rotation number measuring device, based on the output voltage Vm of a three-phase conduction coil exceeds a predetermined number of rotations, the charging of a battery by a three-phase generator is started.

  • Patent number: 7410373
Abstract: Secure cable connections in a structure. Cables are routed between a fixed surface and a removable surface to connectors within a lockable enclosure. Removable surfaces include raised floors, suspended ceilings, and the like that generally comprise tiles for access to an area between the removable surface and the fixed surface. Cable connectors are coupled to distribution panels, distribution cassettes, individual jacks, and/or other connectors within the lockable enclosure, which prevent unauthorized access to the cable connections. Cables are prefabricated to desired lengths with color coding and/or keyed connectors. Distribution cassettes, panels, jacks, and/or other connectors are also prefabricated with matching colors and/or keyed connectors to minimize installation time and connection errors. Lockable enclosures include concealed enclosures behind removable surfaces, integrated enclosures within removable surfaces, wall outlets, furniture outlets, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6874128
Abstract: A mouse driven splitter program and algorithm is disclosed herein. The invention is a user interface which solves the problem of interactively designing splitter window layouts by combining maximum flexibility and generality with user-friendliness. The invention allows a program user to create every possible combination of panes and nested splitter windows with no limitation on the nesting depth. The entire process is purely graphical, employing only the mouse as a tool. Similarly, the user can place content, such as a particular chart in any pane using the mouse only.

  • Patent number: 4699528
Abstract: A rotary assembly includes a shaft, a housing, and a bearing interposed between shaft and housing to provide radial support while also permitting relative rotation. The invention permits optimum operation of the bearing, by permitting the bearing to be self-positioned even though slightly out of alignment with either the shaft or the housing, or both. This is accomplished by providing a radial space between the bearing and the shaft or housing; placing a generally ring-shaped compensating member in circumferential engagement with the associated cylindrical surface of the shaft or housing; providing a longitudinal taper on the outer surface of the associated end of the bearing; and then placing the tapered surface of the bearing in overlapping engagement with the compensating member and resiliently urging the bearing and the compensating member axially together so as to provide a firm support both radially and axially for the bearing.
