Abstract: An automatic door bottom having a release mechanism is used on the bottom of a hinged door that is pivotable to be positioned over a sill when closed and includes a movable sealing member having a length corresponding to the width of the door and is housed in a channel mounted on the door. The sealing member is movable vertically downwardly into a sealing position in which the sealing member will contact the door sill when the door is closed. The release mechanism permits the sealing member to be moved upwardly even when the door is in the closed position.
Abstract: A fire resistant louver system and method of making the same includes a plurality of overlapping louvers mounted in a frame for insertion in a door or wall with the louvers arranged to define a circuitous passage there between that allows air flow from one side to the other of the system. The strips of intumescent material mounted on at least selected ones of the louvers so that when the system is subjected to heat above a predetermined temperature the intumescent material expands to close the circuitous passages.

Abstract: An intumescent seal for doors, door frames or the like is provided which includes a first housing having a first outwardly opening channel formed therein and a second housing adjustably and movably mounted in the first outwardly opening channel of the first housing. The second housing also has an outwardly opening channel formed therein which is substantially filled with an intumescent material. The movable mounting of the second housing allows for resilient movement of the second housing within the first channel to ensure a tight seal.
Abstract: An automatic door bottom is disclosed in which a channel member has a drop bar assembly mounted therein with an adjustable length push rod connected to the drop bar for cooperation with a spring means to selectively lower and raise the drop bar in response to opening and closing the door. A pair of magnets are placed within the channel on the drop bar and in the channel for effecting movement of the drop bar to insure that the bar drops in a sizzle-like manner, with the end closest to the door hinge dropping down and lifting up, before the end away from the door hinge.
