  • Publication number: 20090078113
Abstract: A reciprocating piston machine (100) is provided such as a CO2 compressor for a vehicle air-conditioning unit. The machine (100) comprises a plurality of pistons and a swivel disk (107) that is rotated by and can be positioned at an adjustable angle with respect to a drive shaft (104). The swivel disk (107) is mounted on the drive shaft (104) so as to be axially movable thereon. In addition, the swivel disk is connected in an articulated manner to at least one supporting element (109) which is disposed so that it is spaced apart from the drive shaft (104) but rotates therewith. Each of the pistons (106) comprises a joint arrangement (110) with which the swivel disk (107) is in sliding engagement. The connection (116) between the drive shaft (104) and the swivel disk (107) serves substantially only to transmit torque, whereas the supporting element (109) serves substantially only to provide axial support to the pistons (106) and/or to the swivel disk (107) and hence to absorb the force exerted by the gas.

Abstract: Reciprocating compressor (100), in particular CO2 compressor for vehicle air-conditioning units, with a swivel disk (107), in particular annular in form, that is rotated by a drive shaft (104) and can be positioned at an adjustable angle with respect to the drive shaft (104), wherein said disk is connected in an articulated manner to a sliding sleeve (108) that can be moved axially along the drive shaft (104) as well as to at least one supporting element (109) so disposed that it is spaced apart from the drive shaft (104) and rotates therewith, and wherein each of the pistons (106) comprises a joint arrangement (110) with which the swivel disk (107) is in sliding engagement. • Patent number: 6913067
Abstract: Vehicle air-conditioning system, in particular CO2 air conditioner, the refrigerant cycle of which comprises the following components: a compressor, a refrigerant cooler, an internal heat exchanger between the refrigerant-cooler side and the evaporator side, an expansion valve, and an evaporator. To switch the air-conditioning system from cooling-mode operation to heating-mode operation, between the compressor and the refrigerant cooler there is integrated an auxiliary heat exchanger corresponding to a cooling circulation on the engine side, such that downstream of the auxiliary heat exchanger there is disposed an expansion valve by means of which during heating-mode operation the refrigerant can be throttled to a lower pressure.

  • Patent number: 6910406
Abstract: In an axial piston compressor for a refrigerant, in particular for a vehicle air conditioner, with a housing (12) in the interior of which is disposed at least one bearing (22, 24, 26, 48, 56, 58, 60, 64), with an output conduit (34) for the compressed refrigerant, and with a lubricant that is present in the interior of the housing (12), the lubrication is to be improved. For this purpose there is provided in the housing at least one lubricant channel to conduct lubricant to the bearing, as well as a lubricant separator (36) that is connected to the output conduit (34) for the refrigerant and incorporates a collection chamber (40) that contains the lubricant separated from the compressed refrigerant and is connected to the lubricant channel (46) by a feed line (42), such that the lubricant is propelled out of the lubricant separator and into the lubricant channel entirely on the basis of the pressure difference between the compression pressure of the lubricant and the interior pressure of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6817840
Abstract: The invention relates to a subassembly, consisting of a drive shaft (12), a housing (10) with a through-bore (19), through which the drive shaft projects out of the housing and an axial mechanical seal consisting of a rotating seal ring (22) and a counter-ring (20) which forms a seal between the drive shaft (12) and housing (10) components. The invention aims to improve the assembly of the axial mechanical seal and the thermal dissipation from said mechanical seal. To this end, the counter-ring (20) is configured as one single piece with one of the two components (10, 12). This obviates a separate assembly of the counter-ring and allows the heat produced by friction to be dissipated directly into one of the two components.

  • Patent number: 6766726
Abstract: The invention relates to an axial piston displacement compressor, comprising a drive shaft (12), a disc (14) which is mounted on the drive shaft in such a way, that it can be pivoted about a pivotal axis (C) and at least one piston (18) which is provided with sliding blocks (20) that slide on a runway on the disc (14). The invention aims to reduce the maximum effective surface pressure between the disc (14) and the sliding blocks (20). To this end, the pivotal axis (C) of the disc (14) is located eccentrically in relation to the central plane of the disc.
