Abstract: A sacro-lumbar support belt includes an outer face completely covered by a looped fabric and two elastic tightening panels, each panel rigidly coupled at one end to the outer face and having at its other end a hook means for releasably securing that end to the outer surface at any desired location. Pelvic traction straps with hook means at one end are releasably engageable on the belt outer face at any desired location.

Abstract: A circular knit therapeutic stocking in which bare elastomeric yarn is knit in selected courses and wales with a non-elastomeric yarn in other selected courses and wales in the welt, boot and foot portions of a stocking to provide a retractive or compressive force of graduating degrees as required with a circumferential heel-instep band of lesser retractive or compressive force, and a closed toe area in which stretchable fabric with minimal retractive forces is integrally knit to the foot portion of the stocking whereby the bare elastomeric yarns are buried or concealed by the knitted non-elastomeric yarns and in which a welt panel of flexible and relatively non-stretchable material is secured in the welt portion of the stocking to be positioned on the inner upper thigh of the leg of a wearer.

Abstract: A device for mixing methyl methacrylate monomer and methyl methacrylate polymer to form bone cement in a hospital operating room includes a bowl-shaped container, a replaceable resilient plastic bowl-shaped liner which fits in the bowl-shaped container, a fluid passageway formed between the liner and container and a deflector cap which covers the space between the upper end of the liner and the upper end of the container. Exhaust openings in the side wall of the liner place the interior of the liner in fluid flow communication with the fluid passageway. The methyl methacrylate monomer and polymer are mixed in the bowl-shaped liner.

Abstract: The embodiment of the invention disclosed herein is directed to a joint prosthesis for total knee replacement. The joint prosthesis includes a first prosthetic member including a stem member adapted for insertion into a first skeleton element. A second prosthetic member includes a stem for insertion into a second skeleton element which is disposed adjacent to first skeleton element. The joint prosthesis is provided with a removable plateau member which forms a slide or rubbing surface for the prosthetic members. The removable plateau can be replaced when worn. Retaining screws are provided on opposite sides of the first prosthetic member to retain the ball within the socket therein.
