    Abstract: Embodiments provide a method and device for plate osteosynthesis of a bone fracture that allows angle-stable fixation of the bone fracture, while permitting elastic axial motion at the fracture site in a controlled, symmetric manner to stimulate fracture healing. Embodiments pertain to a bone plate having an outer surface and a bone-facing surface. The bone plate incorporating internal sliding elements containing a threaded receiving hole for bone screws that have a correspondingly threaded screw head. The sliding elements undergo controlled displacement parallel to the longitudinal axis of the plate but are substantially constrained against displacement perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the plate. The bone screws with threaded heads may be rigidly fixed to the threaded receiving holes in the sliding elements without compressing the bone plate onto the bone surface. Sliding elements are elastically suspended inside the bone plate and undergo dynamic motion.

The alignment guide can be coupled to the proximal end portion of the tibial block and can include one or more drill guides and a drill guide adjustment mechanism. The tibial implant template can be engaged with the drill guide adjustment mechanism, such that rotational movement of the tibial implant template can adjust an axial direction of the one or more drill guides. An outer profile of the tibial implant template can be selected to substantially match an outer profile of a tibial prosthesis to be implanted.

    Abstract: An articulation element consisting of a plurality of adjustable jaw pairs for the purposes of fixating the relative position of coupled bars and/or bone pins of an external bone fixator. Each of the adjustable jaws consists of a pair of hemispherical jaw elements contained within a spherical housing. A passage is eccentrically arranged through the jaw elements to accept the pin or bar. The jaw elements have interposed between them a spring element that serves to bias the jaw elements in the closed position. Pins serve to provisionally lock the jaw elements in the closed position. Spring loaded buttons act to release the pins thereby allowing the jaw elements to open accepting the pin or bar. The jaws are attached in a back to back fashion through the use of a threaded collar which acts as a turnbuckle pulling the jaws together when tightened.

A three-dimensional model of an anatomic feature of a patient may be compared to the available templates, and a suitable template may be tested by virtually implanting the template on the three-dimensional model of the patient's anatomical feature. In some embodiments, a patient's three-dimensional model for which a suitable pre-made template is not available may be used to customize a pre-made template to design a suitable implant.

High congruence between the medial articulation surfaces creates a pivot point for external rotation at the medial contact area, while lower congruence in the lateral articulation surfaces allows the lateral femoral condyle to track anteriorly and posteriorly during flexion. The amount of lateral condyle bearing spacing divergence is calculated to produce a substantially linear anteroposterior motion profile of the lateral femoral condyle upon the lateral tibia articular surface throughout a wide range of flexion.
