Patents Assigned to Zimmerman & Jansen GmbH
  • Patent number: 5927684
Abstract: Single-plate slide, especially single-plate pipe bridge slide (10) with a slide-plate (16) and if necessary a pipe bridge (20), which is or are movable by means of an actuating device (18, 19) within this casing (11) in order to close or open a fluid passage (17) formed in a casing (11), the slide plate (16) or pipe bridge (20) having lateral seal surfaces which correspond with seal surfaces located on the casing side, especially annular seal surfaces (14, 15). At least one of the seal surfaces (14, 15) on the casing side forms part of a seal ring (23) located in the casing (11), which abuts with resilient pre-stressing on the facing seal surface of the slide plate (16) or pipe bridge (20).

  • Patent number: 5551666
Abstract: Butterfly flap valve (10) comprising a valve housing (12) with an axial flow aperture (14), a flap shaft (16) that projects out of the valve housing (12), crosses the flow aperture (14) substantially diametrically and can be operated by means of a drive mechanism disposed outside the valve housing (12), and a closure flap (22) attached to the flap shaft (16) to close the flow aperture. In this system, to move the closure flap (22) out of the closed position into the position in which the flow aperture (14) is open, the closure flap (22) is first lifted away from the valve seat (24) and then swiveled within the flow aperture (14) by way of the connection of the flap shaft (16) both to a lever system (28), consisting of a first lever element (44) and a second lever element (46), and to an actuator shaft (30) coupled to the drive mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4905755
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for automatically filling a continuous casting mold with (steel) melt which is poured in controlled fashion into the continuous casting mold through a bottom hold adapted to be closed by an automatically operated stopper in a distributor channel or intermediate vessel. The stopper carries out predeterined up and down movements, especially in response to the melt level in the continuous casting mold against the action of a force urging the stopper into closing position, while the mold is being filled. The up and down movement of the stopper is realized by an adjustment unit acting directly at the top end of the stopper. The force which urges the stopper into closing position is obtained either from a constant mass or an elastic member attempting to urge the stopper increasingly into closing position as the temperature rises.
